We purchased this power adapter for a recent trip to Ireland and it worked perfectly. It was easy to find and didn't blend into the walls like the other adapters which were white in color. It was very handy having the option to plug in 2 devices at the same time since there seemed to be fewer outlets available than in a standard U.S. hotel room. No moving parts and a sturdy design kept us confident that the adapter wouldn't come apart or break on our trip. One note to prospective buyers: this is an adapter NOT a converter so be careful which devices you plug into it because some can convert automatically and some can't.

If you're a frequent traveller like me, you know you need adaptors in foreign countries to plug things in and charge cell phones, computers etc. So many places have inferior sockets, especially anything less than brand new 4 or 5 star hotels. I've used low quality generic adaptors many times and finally got fed up with the plugs falling out of the sockets, especially when weighted down with other cables or power supplies. Not only is it annoying but it's also really bad for electronics, having the power go on and off intermittently. Finally a really well made adaptor that stays put! The plugs are made to a very high standard and the fit into a socket is a lot tighter than others. A recent trip to Europe (I used 3 different ones) proved this. In direct comparison to a generic adaptor the solidity of the connection was vastly superior. The extra outlet on the top also proved very handy without having to use an extra distribution adaptor. Why would you plug in a $1000 laptop with a 99 cent adaptor and risk hard drive damage?

As an audiophile, I also know that better connections make better sound. Anyone who uses high quality aftermarket cables knows this. Power supply connections are no different. Trust me, if you care about what you're plugging in, this is the only adaptor to get. Also, any outlets that can be grounded, are. A lot of adaptors have no ground connection, if there's something there it's usually a plastic pin. In any case I bought the whole set and am very happy with them. For a few extra bucks, they are worth every penny. Buy these, you won't be sorry!

We used this adapter in Ireland and it worked great. It was nice that it has space to plug in two US items into one adapter. Highly recommended!

First of all, if you are looking for something to convert UK voltage (220/240v) to 120v, this product is not for you. You'll know if you need just an outlet adapter such as this versus an actual voltage converter by looking at the electrical rating information on whatever you plan to plug in. If the range includes at least 240v this is what you need. If it only says 120v, you'll be wanting a converter, otherwise you will quickly have a new paperweight in a foreign country.

I purchased this for a few reasons. 1. Because I knew this was all I needed for what I brought. 2. Because it is properly grounded. A few similar products have plastic grounds, which for me seems like a great way to risk the safety of an expensive personal item. 3. Because this had an extra non-grounded outlet on the top, though I haven't used it yet. By the way, I would not recommend buying a non-grounded (2 prong) to grounded (3 prong) adapter to use on this products extra outlet unless you can ground the adapter properly. Besides, this product wasn't designed to provide two grounded connections.

Another bonus to this is that it is a compact product. A few people I know bought different models, either in the UK or online, and they are much wider. They aren't so much bigger that they will be a problem, but this one is still quite small.

All in all, this does what it is supposed to, which is all I expect it to do. It has allowed me to keep my laptop powered for a week straight with no power supply heat issues or funny smells. The world of adapters and converters can be confusing, so if your products can handle at least 240v, this should work just fine short of a manufacturing defect.

I purchased this travel adapter (along with a few others that were appropriate for each country) to use on my European vacation. Since I'm always losing things, or abandoning things in hotel rooms, I figured that the purple color would make said abandonment of the adapter itself less likely. I also liked that I would be able to plug in or charge two appliances in at once.

This adaptor worked very well in each hotel I stayed in. It had a nice, tight fit into the wall sockets, as opposed to what my friends who were with me on the trip had packed. They brought other adapters that had a weird plastic prong that didn't want to fit into the UK outlets, or blocked their ability to plug in. Even if they could get a charge, some of their cheaper adapters would simply fall out of the socket a few minutes after plugging in, so my friends were borrowing my adapters during the course of our entire trip... I know what I will be giving my friends as gifts before their next trip!

**As a note, this is just an adapter, so you will need to make sure that your appliance is suitable for the European voltage (230-240V), or you will have to purchase a voltage converter.

This is more expensive than others offered on Amazon, but it works, it doesn't fall out of the wall socket, and if you pair it with a short extension cord/multiple outlet strip such as the Monster Outlets to Go 4, you can charge your laptop, camera battery, phone, etc. all at once. If you're worried that this thing costs too much to provide a safe, fire-free, and electrocution-free trip when you're already spending thousands of dollars on flights, hotels, and meals, you probably ought to rethink your trip all together.

The adapter enabled us to use US electrical products in the United Kingdom. The plug was used daily in a number of hotels and worked flawlessly. It is not a converter, just an adapter.

I just got back from a trip to Europe. I used this adapter in England and on the Eurostar train from London to Paris. It fit the outlets well and having the second plug really came in handy. I brought along a short (6 inch) US extension cord that could handle 3 plugs. This came in handy as we had a cell phone, camera, video camera, and rechargeable razor. I could connect all of these at the same time.

Pleased with item, like the fact that the color makes it hard to leave behind in a hotel. Quick shipping and careful packaging from the seller. Helpful that it has two ports.

I took this to Ireland for two weeks. I stayed in five different hotels and it worked perfectly every time. I was able to charge my laptop and camera at the same time and also plug my MP3 player into my laptop and charge three items at once. I did not need another converter - just this little gadget. Unfortunately, during my last hotel stay I left it there. I highly recommend this adapter.
