Pathetic attempt for an informative book, February 19, 2009
This review is from: SDLC 100 Success Secrets - Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 100 Most Asked Questions, SDLC Methodologies, Tools, Process and Business Models (Paperback)
To say the least, this book is a waste of time. I would give it negative stars if Amazon would let me. The publisher, which is not listed anywhere in the book, "Emereo Pty Ltd", is horrible. I had to search for the their name online so that I could trash them, because it is nowhere to be found in the book itself. I don't know that it was even edited prior to printing, because the grammar is awful. Here is an example of a number of sentences that are in the book: Proper- "There are many people that dislike this book." Book- "There is much people that dislike this book." [...]. I don't believe it was reviewed at all before publishing. Rather than take notes, I would rather get out my red pen and correct it. Also, I like the concept of answering the "top 100 questions" about SDLC, however, the author doesn't do that at all. Rather, Jason Lewis attempts to answer a question like a student that forgot to do their assignment the night before, and make things up as they go along. The book could also be condensed into 150 pages, rather than the 181 pages it has. Each question takes up about 1.25 to 1.5 pages, and then the next question starts on a new page. It is honestly a disgrace of a book. Don't waste your time or money, I'm sorry for those that have, like myself.
