I recommend for general to light rock pick use.

Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but I'm sure they will work just fine!
Charlana
Fits nicely in our backpack and I even made a sheath for it out of denim.

I have used this rock hammer on my field trip last weekend. It worked OK. It's better than nothing, but the sharp end got curled soon after I tried to dig some brachipods from limestone. It is not hard enough. However, considering the cheap price, it's still OK. But you shouldn't expect more.

Moderately soft face good for breaking off chunks though I had to sharpen the chisel end and harden it some so it would stand up to hard igneous rocks like basalt. For the low price it is recommended.

This is not quite the heavey duty industrial quality of the Estwing Brands, but it is not near the price either. This is a general purpose Rock Hammer to add to my bag. I had to try this pick out to see if the half price was half quality. It is far better than half quality. I recommend for general to light rock pick use. Oh, yes, just go try to find one of these in Home Depot! Rare is the find! Use Amazon for this one for sure!

Soft aluminum shaft will not hold up to the task. I bought it as a gift for my aspiring grandson, if you miss your target and hit the shaft it's all over.

concrete is a good test for geology hammers. this one has a semi-soft tip on it. so before you use it i would recomend hardening and tempering the tip before you use it.

Hammer is as expected. Arrived promptly in decent packaging, protecting other items from it. Came in Grey instead of black, however, which tweeks my OCD some since it won't match the rest of the gear I've bought my daughter.

This received 5 stars from me because it was better than I expected - heavy duty, solid, and a handled that was not a plastic covering! I plan to use it at a teacher workshop and I think my students will enjoy using it outside.

Nice well-made product. Bought it for my son to go to "diamond" mining in Herkimer New York. With both my husband and my sons abuse and worked beautifully
