I have used an old calculator like this one for years on taxes and I bought 2 new ones this year. My battery gave out on the old one and I only paid $1.00 for the old one. Even at the price I paid now in this recession we are having, it is a good price. I saw this same item a few years ago where I bought my first one for over $7.00. So if you need a calculator get a big display and you will enjoy using it and not hurting your eyesight to see it.

I will not recommend this to anyone who wants ease of use. Granted that the numbers are easy to see, the keys have to be pressed very hard for the numbers/symbols to register. I find myself really digging in just to get the key to register. It's not for someone who has to make a quick calculation or just pressed for time -- which is pretty much most of us. Get something else.

I've owned the original model, I believe, of this calculator for years! Still works as well as the first day I bought it. I have been looking everywhere for a SIMPLE large display calculator for some time now and couldn't find one anywhere. The large display allows you to use it without having to locate your glasses before reading it. I findly found exactly what I was looking for on Amazon and bought one for a friend. You just can't beat the price or this size for a user friendly calculator anywhere!

Evidently, the other reviewers got a previous model or had VERY low expectations. Don't waste your money...This calculator is of incredibly poor quality. It is very easy to inadvertently omit numbers/symbols when entering them unless you are extremely careful and deliberate while pushing the flimsily constructed buttons. It LOOKS nearly identical to another calculator I've had in the past, but is nowhere near as well-made. I wouldn't order this one again if it were free!

Bought one from walmart several years ago. Dropped it numerous times over the years. The last drop finished it. Could not find it in the stores. Found it on Amazon at a cheap price. Clicked on it and a few days later it was on my front porch. Simple, cheap, and durable. I like it!

Absolutely fantastic for a general usage, desktop calculator. It has a Plus, Minus, Multiply, Divide, Percent, Square Root, Memory Plus, Memory Minus, and Equal Buttons, in addition to the basic operational buttons. Short of a Log Log Duplex Desitrig calculator with angular(sine, cosine, etc) functions, it is the best basic desktop calculator I have ever seen...and I am a Master of Science in Engineering Degree holder and I still have and regularly use my Texas Instruments SR-50.
