4.0 out of 5 stars Just as you would suspect
I like how you receive 4 picks for such a low price. I wish the picks were sharpened before receiving it, but other than that...the picks work just like it is suppose to.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rust
These picks started rusting for me within the first week. I keep them in an air-conditioned environment and regularly clean them. The rust only seems to appear on the grip portion of the picks. It's also unfortunate that the points are showing a little fray after a few weeks of use. But I still gave it 3 stars because of the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good idea to own, December 1, 2010
This review is from: SE Dental Tool Set 4 Piece
I'm a dentist and this is a bad idea to buy these and use for oral care at home on a regular basis. Also these are not called "dental picks", they are explorers and are used for evaluating teeth, not cleaning them. I see too many patients that brush to hard and wear away their tooth structure. These would only cause more damage with people scraping their teeth to get food out. Use floss and a soft brush, not these.

These picks are of descent quality and have very sharp tips. They came in a soft plastic case that holds them perfectly. I wish the picks had more of a variety of ends. Most of the picks look exactly the same. Good product for the low price. I would recommend this if you need some picks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dental Picks & Probes clean the plaqye off my dogs teeth, January 14, 2011

I purchased these Stainless Steel Dental Picks - Probes - Carver Picks - Set of 4 - Non-Slip Grooved Shafts because I have two Miniature Schnauzers and I have brushed their teeth from puppies so they are very relaxed with me working in their mouth(s), especially as I clean the plaque off their teeth. I also use a spray with natural ingredients to soften the plaque to make it easier to clean.

If you have a dog, plaque and tarter build-up can cause some major health problems, especially as they get older. Plaque and gingivitis forms a growth of bacteria that colonize the teeth and the bacteria gets into the blood stream which can cause different health problems as their age progresses.

The other option is to take your dog(s) to the vet and have them put under anesthesia in order to have their teeth cleaned, which is expensive. Also, some dogs may be affected by anesthesia, which may cause further problems.

Pets are a responsibility, they are not like children-who grow up into adults; dogs are forever children and will always be dependent upon their owner. Therefore, if you truly love your dog or cat, train them from an infant stage, in order to manage their hygiene and grooming as they grow older.

Tips are a little irregular for dental work- but perfectly serviceable for hobby tools. Price is great, too.

The item wasn't packaged well. One of the tools was missing. I am disappointed but it isn't worth sending it back over one tool missing.

Not what is shown in the picture. Not even worth $4. They look like tey were sharpened from a bent rod, with the metal plating peeling off. Mine went straight into the trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dental Probes for Paintball, March 4, 2010

These probes are used to catch and remove urethane o-rings and reach any screws lost down into the mechanisms. Also good to 'scratch clean' any dirt in hard to reach places.
As advertised, cheap, and shipped quickly.
