Good product for the money.,

I purchased this set for drilling holes in some extremely hard porcelain tile. They worked exactly as needed. We ran them at a slower speed and kept them well lubricated with water while cutting/grinding. I can't speak to their long-term durability since we needed to make less than a dozen holes. I would suspect that with their small size and small cutting surface their useful life would be somewhat limited. Having said that, they were exactly what we needed since no other drill would make a dent in the tile. The nice size selection allows you create the exact hole size needed. Overall, I was very pleased with the price/performance ratio.
This was purchased from hobbytoolsupply here on Amazon and shipping was extremely quick.

I use these bits to cut holes in wine bottles (the wife puts lights in them as a craft) and they work fairly well for this purpose. I used to use the spade bits, but ended up breaking 50% of the bottles I tried to cut. The hole saws not only cut faster/easier, they dropped the breakage rate down to about 25%. So why three stars? These are just "OK" quality. After about 3 or 4 bottles, the effectiveness dwindles rapidly. After 6 or so, they are pretty much spent. I'm guessing this may be par for the course with regard to longevity; I just figured the glass vs. diamond/steel battle would last a little longer. The price is spot-on, so if you just need to do one or two cuts, you can't beat 'em!
Some words to the wise: 1. Make sure the item you are cutting is secure, and start your cut at a 30-degree angle. Don't move the bit until you have cut a C-shaped "seat", as this will keep the edge from skipping all over the place. 2. Use water during your cuts. Heat is one of the major culprits in cracking glass/ceramics, and the water will act as a coolant and a lubricant to minimize damage. As many know, introducing cold water to hot glass spells disaster, so START your cut using water. 3. Be patient. Forcing your cuts will result in breakage more often than not. If the cut is too slow, it's probably time to replace the tool. 4. As another review mentioned, these don't fit in a Dremel tool collet, so if that is your tool of choice, keep looking. 5. These work best with an AC-powered hand drill or a full-sized drill press. Cordless drills generally don't produce the torque and RPMs these hole saws need. Your milage may vary... The bottom line is that I will continue to buy these on an as-needed basis, but don't feel they are anything to write home about.

I was unsure of these bits before I bought them, based purely on the price. I was unsure of these bits when I received them and it looked like they were poorly dipped in glitter glue. I was completely sold on how well these worked when the 1/4" powered through the wine bottle I was working on with ease, no chipping or cracking...For the money I'm not sure you can get any better

only used the 1/4 in and 1/2 inch, both worked great, keep cool with water and make a wood template to hold bit, and cut away.
update, since used them all, only con is you have to stick a nail in the other side to punch out material from inside the bits, they cut fast, but takes awhile with the smaller bits to clean out the material, otherwise a great set for the price..

I used the largest bit and drilled a hole into the bottoms of six Japanese fish bowls without a problem. The bowls were about 1/2 inch thick. I put about 1/8 inch of water into the bowls to cool the bit and occasionally removed the bit to let the water flush the cut. It took me about 5 - 10 minutes per hole. I am happy with the results.

I was a bit weary when I purchased these, as I too felt they may be a 'cheap' product with little life in them - I was wrong! These diamond bits are a gem in themselves! I have drilled holes in dozens of bottles & other glass items. I use the smallest size most & have never been disappointed. Learn your drill & your glass, keep it wet & lift your bit often so that your glass doesn't get too hot (causing it to crack/break) and you will love these bits! I couldn't be happier with them. I have used them on the most delicate glass, to some pretty hardy glass and they cut through like the glass is butter.
Very nice product!

I've only used the 1/2" bit so far, but I've drilled holes in 10 wine bottles with it, and it just now seems like it may be starting to lose a little bit of its effectiveness (but certainly not to the point of being unusable). As others have mentioned, using water to keep things cool are a really good idea. I used a hand-held drill - as long as you have variable speed and go slow, you should be fine. I did shatter one bottle when trying to go too fast, so BE CAREFUL. Super value for the money.

Drilling through glass...,

This review is from: SE Diamond Hole Saw Set (6 PC) 5/32 "- 1/2" (Misc.)
I was amazed at how easy it was to drill through glass with this set of bits. I used a table top drill press, a squirt bottle with water, and one of these bits. A hand held drill would work but you need to keep everything held firmly in place so the press seemed like the best choice. For my first test I decided to try drilling a 1/2" hole through a coke bottle. What glass drilling job could be more difficult than a round bottle? I was astonished at the results. It worked great! best advice is to be patient and don't push too hard. make sure the bit stays wet. If you go slow and don't put too much downward pressure on while drilling it will make a perfect hole with nary a chip... The only thing more amazing than how well the bits work is how inexpensive the set is. Can't wait to try them out on ceramic!

This is a review for the SE Diamond Hole Saw Set (6-piece, 5/32" to 1/2"). I needed to drill a hole through porcelain tile installed on a bathroom wall in order to install an electrical outlet. Made a drill bit guide by drilling a hole (with an ordinary drill bit) in a wood scrap, taped the guide to the wall, and used two of the diamond hole saws (first one size too small, then the correct size) to create the desired hole in the tile. The guide was necessary; without the guide it would not have been possible to hold the drill in the correct position. The diamond hole saws worked great. What a deal for about $10!

I'm very pleased with this hole saw which i have used to cut holes in glass bottles. It takes a steady hand and slow speed, but the 1/2" saw cuts a nice plug through which you can insert a short string of holiday lights to create a very nice decoration piece. I'm sure there are other uses. Quick delivery. I'm very satisfied.
