This product does everything it is supposed to do. Only problem is the processor is so slow that it take up to 2 seconds to register. When testing continuity, (the main reason I got a multimeter) it takes 2 seconds to beep even when touching the two probes together. I've used many multimeters that register instantly, and even then if a connection is sketchy it can take a second to beep. I can imagine having a lot of trouble using this to test continuity on a tightly packed pcb. If you are very steady and patient, it might not affect your work. I haven't decided whether or not to return it..

Purchased as a backup and should have purchased a backup to the backup. Upon turning the unit on, I got multiple, random readings before hooking up the leads. Once hooked up, received a "1" which means out of the unit's range. Fine, except it wasn't hooked to a source. Testing on known working 120V, 9V, 12V power sources yields the same thing. Outside of warranty/return period, so out the purchase price. Very unhappy. You might get a working one, you might not, and how long it will last is anybody's guess. Test it when you get it, though--short return window means that if you wait (or if it dies on your workbench months later) you're outta luck.

Only the top half of the first digit to the left of the decimal point works, making this pretty much useless as a DMM. As another reviewer noted, quality control is non-existent. At under twelve bucks I didn't expect this to be a Keithley, but I did expect it to work. I've bought simple meters for less that were fully functional, just limited in range and convenience. The noxious smell of the plastic case was a dead giveaway the moment I opened the package -- I haven't smelled anything like that since kids swimming pools first appeared long ago -- and it reeks cheap. The only positive things I can say are that it's delivered with battery installed, and ships with decent test leads.
