Does the job well,

Pulling the hair from a dog's ears is not much fun for the dog or the human, but it's got to be done, and these forceps do the job well, particularly when combined with a product which helps the forceps grip the hair without slipping. Five stars from me, Cosmo thinks they should be banned.

Poor manufacture and weak steel,

I ordered two pairs of the forceps(two straight, two curved), and not a single one had teeth that were aligned nor jaws that were the same thickness. Two of the forceps, one straight one curved were so poorly made that instead of the straight line where the jaws meet, the jaws were twisted more like a double helix. I bought the forceps to remove thorns from my hunting dog that were too small to grab with fingers, and I can't even pull a hair out with them because the jaws are so poorly mated. I had a 3/8 inch sand burr in the dog between her toes and I clamped down, when I unclamped the jaws no longer meet at the tip. As for trying to debone a salmon filet don't even think about it.

The curved one was loose so I don't use it. My main interest was on the straight one that I use when fishing. Got a great price here instead of BPS.

great item,

a great item at an amazing price. i've been using the forceps during my fishing trips. since they're stainless steel they don't rust up. the finger holes were comfortable and they did a great job at getting hooks out of the fish i caught.

I ordered these s.s. forceps they shipped fast & free, but USPS lost my order. Supplier shipped replacement set same day I contacted them. The forceps work great, but I am even more pleased with the communication and service provided by the seller.
Thank you.

The straight forceps arrived rusted and sharp on edges. I didn't look prior to putting my fingers in the handles and they cut my finger. The curved forceps were fine.

I like the size as it makes it alot easier to remove excess hair from my old english sheepdogs ears. This is a very good buy for 2 of them.

Ordered these forceps on the 19th, they shipped the following day and were here 6 days latter. For standard shipping that is excellent. While they are not hospital quality, they aren't hospital priced either. I've priced them for medical use at medical supply stores and they are anywhere from 8 to 55 dollars each. If you have that kind of money and want absolute medical quality go to a surgical supply site like Surtex in the UK or MSEC in the US. If you us them for fishing, hobbies, home veterinary, or even home medical they will work quite well for the price. Thank you Micro-tool for a decent product at a reasonable price!!

I bought this product for knotting projects and I am very happy with the items. They are built well and should stand up to regular use. The grip of the jaws is not perfect and some of the grooves are not machined that well. But, with the locking mechanism, they are good enough for my uses. Overall a great value.

I use these to remove inner ear hair on my long eared dogs (which is how they were marketed). The straight pair works pretty well, the curved do not hold the hair well. I also think a shorter handle would work much better. I am going to try to find a pair like that.
