Product Description

Great Blade Jewelers have the best looking tools. This ultra-slim knife is 4-1/2-Inch long OA, with a flat metal handle that comes in assorted colors (our choice). The short, broad blade is honed to fit into the slit in a watch case and pop the back off easily. It doesn't fold into itself, but does come in a protective vinyl sleeve for storage. Very sharp.

    Very sturdy well made tool.

If it was sharpened to a real cutting edge it would probably work.

I have watches with no notch in the back to enable a small screwdriver to be inserted to pry off the back to change the battery. I thought I was going to have to throw them away. I was very frustrated. I was hoping this product would be thin enough to fit between the back and the watch case. It was not. In fact, a number of my small screwdrivers were much thinner. It didn't work at all. However, I also ordered the Adjustable Snappy Case Opener advertised on Amazon. It worked beautifully! It wasn't really thin enough to slip under the watch backs and at first I thought it wasn't going to work, but I just positioned it against each back, pushed down(it has a spring action), and the watch backs popped right off!

I bought both this tool and the Euro Tool case opening knife from Amazon. This one has a slightly sharper blade edge that gets under the watch case tab better than the Euro Tool. Its flat handle also makes it easier to pry. The SE Knife I received has an orange handle.

I used this little watch case knife to replace a battery in an inexpensive watch. It worked like a champ--no more fooling around with kitchen knives, etc.

This item is easy to use, just make sure you use it on a flat surface to avoid injury. Makes it easy to remove the back from most watches. Just make sure that the watch you are replacing the battery in is one with a flat back. This tool doesn't work on watches with the multiple notches in the back. Highly recommend this product in correlation with the replacement batteries sold on Amazon.

I've tried using small screwdrivers and sharpened putty knives to open watches and my watch backs have the scratches to prove it. This is a simple small knife with the blade beveled so that it's sharp enough to get between the watch back and the case but not so sharp and thin that the blade gets damaged. The knife is a good size and the handle is thick and sturdy and fits well in your hand. It felt like I had a lot of control and I wasn't worried about it slipping and scratching the watch. The shape of the blade seem well suited for use on very small to normal sized watches. At less than $5 it's worth the price. While it's labeled as a tool for watches I can see me using this to pry open other items that can withstand the use of a metal tool.

This is a case of getting what you paid for. Considering the price I cannot complain, as it was able to eventually open watch cases better than anything I already had. Using it I learned a lot about opening cases, as I wound up initially scratching a few case backs before I got them open. Sometimes the problem just seemed to be with the particular watch. You will need instructions, so I strongly recommend viewing how to videos online before attempting to remove any cases. There may be much better tools but I would guess they are much more expensive. After a lot of practice I did get better using the tool.

Arrived in perfect condition and fast too. Although it did not work with the watch I purchased it for, it sure works with all my other watch's. Makes it very easy to change a watch's battery.

This is a product I have looked for for many years, and this one works very well. It got the back off my watch very fast, and I will now save money by replacing my battery myself.
