Exceptional Lighted Magnifier with Different Lenses.,

This review is from: SE Headband Magnifier W/Light 4 lenses (Misc.)
I have used many different magnifiers in my past as a jewelry designer. I bought this one as my own to use for tying tiny flies for fishing. I found this headband magnifier to be exactly what I have been looking for. It is great to have the different strength lenses and I also like the aimable light. This was a great buy for me. I highly recommend this magnifier to anyone needing to get in close to what ever you might be working on.

A Fair Product for the Price,

This product is not too durable in construction, but with gentle use, is suitable for it's price. The plastic lens did not hold it's position after the first two uses (it flopped back and forth), so I had to run a piece of thin wire through the hinge to strengthen it. The bulb in the light keeps coming loose and I have to tighten it periodically. It's hard to tighten the bulb (even with my small fingers), so I gently used a pair of needle nose pliers, which worked fine. The bulb does not overheat at all, even after several hours of continued use. The lenses are very good for being acrylic, the view is clear and the selection of ranges are great. I am an avid knitter, using very small needles for intricate work and have developed very poor eyesight over the years, but this magnifier allows me to be hands free and see very clearly. The light acts like a mini spot light, shining directly on the work area and can be positioned easily to the left, right, up or down. It runs on 2 AA batteries. The batteries do not seem to last very long. I replace them after about 3 hours of use; the light fades and then goes out. The headpiece is adjustable and would fit anyone. It feels ok, but it does have some weight and gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. This magnifier would probably be more suited to short projects rather than what I have been using it for, which can take several hours at a time.

If it were possible to give less than one star, I would.,

In all my 67 years, I have NEVER come across such a terrible product! Nothing about it worked as promised.
The light switch didn't work AT ALL. The side screws never held it up, no matter how tight I tried it, even without the weight to the lens. When they were added, it was a joke! DO NOT WASTE A DIME ON THIS. I returned mine and am absolutely appalled that they would be allowed to market such an inferior product. As someone else said, if I had seen this in a store, it wouldn't have occurred to me to buy it because it is made of such flimsy materials.
