9 LED - flickerlight,

An honest review from an honest person. I typically only write reviews if a product is less than what I expected simply to let others know to beware of an item. On to the review!!! This is simply a flashlight, I would not go as far as calling it "Heavy Duty". When it works, it works just about as well as I would expect a cheap LED flashlight to work. The downside is that this flashlight has some continuity issues as it flickers on and off when it wants. I have tried tightening the battery cap and even extending the little spring in the battery cap to allow the battery pack to be pressed more firmly in place, but the flickering continues. I believe another person mentioned this same issue in another review and I thought maybe they just had a bad unit but mine does the exact same thing. My next step is to take it completely apart and find a way to resolve this issue, so I guess I at least got a nice little project out of it. If this flashlight did not flicker on and off, and all of the LED's remained lit at the same time while the unit was on I would have given this 5 stars. If you are looking for a solid, reliable LED flashlight, save yourself some headache and keep looking.

Nothing I did: stretch spring, replace batteries etc. would make this work at all! Piece of attractive junk
good as a paper weight only!

Bought this little flashlight to use around the house not really expecting much. Turns out it works well. So well that I bought another
one for my wife to use.

Awful, cheap, horrible. I threw it away with minimal use. Light is not very strong, but mostly, the darn thing hardly ever works without smacking against your hand a few times.

The LED is bright and it works great, but the part where you put the batteries in doesn't screw in all the way. It screws in enough for it to work but doesn't seem to fit all the way. Either way, it works.

I really want to like them,
This review is from: SE 9 LED Heavy-Duty Compact Aluminium Flashlight - Black
These flashlights have a lot going for them: the are small, very powerful, require common AAA batteries, and are cheap enough to buy a bunch and put in every vehicle, room, and toolbox. The problem is that they are also sometimes flimsy. I have had several that have taken a beating, and I have had just as many that have broken from slight drops to the floor. At the price, it is still almost worth it to have a few duds, but be aware that these can be iffy. However, when they work, they work very, very well! They put out a great amount of light, and sip batteries. Edit: I dissected a few of the non-working ones, and what happens is that the circuit board that is between the battery pack and the bulb assembly gets loose because the FRONT plastic "lens" gets pushed out of whack. Taking it apart and pushing everything back together tightly seems to have fixed a few of them, at least temporarily. That would explain why drops to the floor ae the biggest killer, it is jarring the electronics out of place. I bet this can be easily fixed with some electrical tape or epoxy, if someone were so inclined... it would be worth it, because these really are great lights for the money

Really nice gadget- bought it for weekend camping trips and hiking- fantastically strong lighting for such a small flashlight. Reccomend it 100%. Love it.

I've had two of these for several, maybe three, years. Reliable, cheap, small, use inexpensive batteries, and are much brighter than an equivalent-size non-led light. Obviously some users have problems--not me--and I leave my two out on the desk and shelves for constant use searching in dark corners of my house or projects where I need some close-up light. Wouldn't be without them.

This flashlight only lasted a few weeks. It was dead even though new batteries were used. In overall, I only used it about 10 times and 1-5 minutes each time. It was a total waste of money. Please do not make the same mistake as I did.
Cheap doesn't mean a good deal if it wouldn't last for a reasonable amount of time. |
