An Excellent Survival Knife,

After looking through knives at a huge range of prices, I was somewhat apprehensive spending what little I did on this. I figured that since it has a flint, if nothing else, I'd have a way to start fires.
I wasn't disappointed. The knife is well-balanced, solid, and just the right size. I'll be using it for years to come in my treks into the woods. It has a rope around the tang, so, if you're in an emergency, you have rope, and the flint sparks readily using the teeth at the top of the blade. It's less comfortable than one with a more ergonomically designed handle, but I'd rather have the twine in a pinch. It's a great knife for the money.

I am very surprised about this knife, for the price i was thinking. "ah its a cool knife. probably not that great but whatever." definitely was caught off guard when it arrived. very slick, good balance. it has a twine grip which isn't as comfortable as anyone would want it to be, but it adds a great advantage in survival situations for whenever you need some rope. its quite intimidating as well as it is useful.
i would just recommend sharpening the blade more when you get it. not exactly the sharpest, but it'll get the job done if you don't sharpen it to your likings.

AMAZING KNIFE cheap sheath,

This knife is excellent for its price, high quality steel. This has a full tang, and while the handle is only para cord it can easily be replaced with a custom wood handle dipped in tool dip. mine came sharp enough to cut a piece of paper cleanly. the flint sparked the first time i struck it on the back and was a wonderful addition to a nice knife. the one complaint I have is that while the sheath fits, and holds nicely on a belt, there is no hard plastic interior inside, just stitching and webbing . the sheath has a few good features, such as a pocket for the flint, and holds the knife in place tightly, i however would recommend lining it with wood, or plastic before going out with it. that being said if your looking for a good solid cheap knife order this.

For the price, you can't buy a better knife. Yes, the sheath is cheap and the point will start cutting through if you use it very often. Who cares if the guy who gave it 2 stars thinks the wrapped handle sucks. There is nothing wrong with the handle. The velcro may be too big, but it does the job of holding the knife in the sheath. I just tightened up the cord on the handle and have no complaints. If you're looking for a knife to use repeatedly in the field, I would spend a little more for a better sheath and more comfortable handle. If you need a knife for backpacking or to put in your emergency kit, this is perfect. Fire starter works great. Who cares if you can throw it, that's not what it's intended for. If you're on the fence about this knife, buy it. You'll be satisfied.

Knife is great. Fire rod is great.
Sheath is crap. The knife cuts though the sheath every time you put it in. The loop at the top ripped off the second or third time I pulled the knife out. Again though....great knife. Sheath is absolutely worthless.

I think this knife is great, for the price. Im sure there are more high quality knives, but probably not at this price. If youre just looking for a knife to take camping, or to keep under your bed for home protection, i think this knife will suit you well. It's nothing fancy, just a knife. The fire starter is great. Worked well with cotton balls. TIP: Put a little vasoline on your cotton balls, and they will burn FOREVER! YouTube it, its awesome! My son and I had 3 cotton balls with less than a teaspoon amount of vasoline on them, and they burned for nearly 10 minutes! Just 3 cotton balls! Anyways, for the price, i am very happy with this knife. NOTE: The box it comes in, is really cheap. All it says is "Made in China" and "Hunting Knife" with a pic of the knife. There is no brand, or manufacture's name on it, anywhere! If you saw the knife without the box, you would think it's more expensive, but when you see the box it comes in, you know it cant be that much. I only mention this because i got this knife as a gift for my brother, but changed my mind when i saw the cheap packaging. not a big deal, just an fyi.

I purchased this knife for my son. It is somewhat large and the steel is 440 stainless and it's quite thick and hearty. It didn't come sharpened. It only has a paracord (cheap paracord at that) grip....but come on.....for the price, you can't beat it. This will be his first knife and it will do everything that he will need for it to do when we hit the woods together. The firesteel is nice and it works well. The sheath is adequate but cheap. Don't purchase this and think that you are buying top notch quality. It is well worth the price though. I would actually expect it to be more expensive. If the price was double, plus shipping, I would still think that I got a decent deal. It is inexpensive enough to buy a couple and if one gets lost then oh well. You won't be let down with this purchase.

Overall, the blade is cheap and strong. It's not perfectly forged or hardened, but because it's so cheap the thing is amazing. To be honest I prefer it to many more expensive knives such as the Blackhawk Tatang and my SOG knives simply because its really really strong and I'm not afraid to use it for things that might ruin my other knives. Honestly I don't know what specifically, but I just absolutely love this knife! I promise that you will too. Maybe the fact that its so simple and plain is what I like about it. Either way, the way the paracord handle is wrapped bugged me, so I wrapped it tighter using the crossed-x method. Before wrapping the knife, soak the paracord in water for half an hour to soften it up so that when it dries it will be tighter. I also choose to cut off some of the tail of the paracord and tie knots into it for a grip-tail instead of a loop. When you cut the paracord (and even if you don't its a good idea) just singe the tip of the cord with a lighter or match to fuse the end of the rope so it won't fray. Also, the knife, because it's a blank, doesn't come sharpened, so you'll have to do that too (I'd recommend after you do everything else like rewrap the handle). Once you get it sharpened it's incredibly awesome. Honestly, with a history of only using more expensive knives, I really am impressed with this little thing.
The fire starter is honestly worthless but it works fine, just as well as the $10 Light My Fire ones and if you want it then by all means use it, nothing wrong with it at all. The sheath, while it looks nice, doesn't fit the knife properly as the knife tang sticks out about an inch when inserted into the sheath properly. Because it's not protected, I would recommend putting some sort of thin plastic layer (like a thin, flexible teflon cutting board or some strips of plastic casing (from a toy box or similar) sandwiching or surrounding the knife, this will make the sheath worth at least double its value. When it arrives, immediately take a lighter to any stray strands or strings to singe them and prevent them from reforming. I also took a hard buffer to the knife to remove the grey enamel and make it shiny like brushed steel. Just my preference. I am also planning on taking a bench grinder to the lightning slits on top and hopefully I can turn them into serrates , which would double the awesome of this knife.
