I ordered three of these. Two were dead on arrival. Switches on unit that "works" fail to connect just often enough to keep me guessing. All three units have bar code stickers on them that were never designed to be removed. Seriously, don't try. Before I knew better, my attempts to remove the bar code sticker generated minutes and minutes of muted rage ... to get just enough of the sticker face off to reveal a layer of adhesive that I suspect will require industrial solvents to properly clean. The unit is just a bit too heavy to allow the revealed gummy adhesive to support its weight. Too bad, that might have been handy for attaching the laser in easy reach. Also, I think there might be warning about the laser and eyesight or something like that under the bar code label ... it's probably not important. On the upside, the working unit's laser is, in fact, red and really bright.

Update: After a couple of months the switches for the laser seem to have broken in a bit. I added a star, given the low price. So two of the three are now working.

This is a great little laser pointer and flash light. The key chain is handy. I gave this to each of my boys (11 and 13 years old) and neither of them has lost their house keys since. They love the laser pointer part of it.

I bought this as a simple laser pointer to play with. The unit I received had buttons that were either so difficult to use or just didn't work. Either way it was incredible poor construction. I tossed it in the trash.
