This is the perfect little magnifier for coins. My 10 year old son is a collector and this item allows him to view the detail of the coins easily. A very nice and reasonably priced gift for any collector.

I bought this product some time ago. I use the magnifier almost every day. I bought it to look for mint marks and wear on coins but it works for everything.

This magnifier is typical China trash which indicates the real destructive problem in the United States which cries out for Americans to stop buying imports.

Since I've had cataract surgery in both eyes I've bought quite a few styles of magnifiers seeking one or two that helped overcome my loss of near vision. This looked like a good candidate. Unfortunately the magnification is minimal and does not meet my needs. I don't exactly know how magnification is stated, but I don't think it provides 6x magnification -- more like 1.6x. I measured the original size and the size through the magnifier and it increases the size about 60%. I assume 6x means an a size of 6 times the object size. This device produces a size of 1.6 times the object size. That's a BIG difference. You can check this for yourself by measuring the sizes in the picture I've posted. Maybe they meant to say it's 1.6X instead of 6X

I threw this thing in the box with my many other magnifier mistakes.

From the other reviews it appears to works well for coin collectors, and I assume, stamp collectors. I'm neither of these.

I tried to leave a review of this vendor -- hobbytoolsupply. But, because there was an error creating my vendor review, Amazon tells me there is no way submit a corrected review of a vendor. They suggest I post my vendor review in this product review. My review of this vendor would give him one star. Though he shipped quickly, the product was misrepresented -- a lot. It is not as stated in the ad, and is of no value to me.

The vendor refunded my money.

This magnifier is sturdy and well constructed. It has plenty of room under the lens to view larger silver dollars and the lens is large enough to see most all of the item placed under it to view. The only downside was the box it arrived in stated it was a 5X magnifier, not a 6X. Recommended for anyone looking at coins or stamps.
