Maximizes Hard Drive Storage Densities
Maximizes Hard Drive Storage Densities

Desktop HDD, 1TB-per-disk technology incorporates 340,000 unique tracks in the width of a single inch. This incredible storage density drives new capacity possibilities and lowers your total storage costs.

Seagate AcuTrac technology enables storage densities with accurate reading and writing to nano-sized tracks that are only 75 nanometers wide! That's about 1/500th the size of the period at the end of this sentence.

The Size and Performance You Want

You get more bang for your buck with the industry's first 1TB-per-disk hard drive technology.

Your drive is up to 45% faster than the last generation thanks to Seagate OptiCache technology. OptiCache technology combines the latest advances in hard drive microprocessors, DRAM, and proprietary caching algorithms resulting in great performance improvements for you.

Go Beyond 2TB with DiscWizard Software
Go Beyond 2TB with DiscWizard Software

The sure way to get native access to hard drives bigger than 2TB is to adopt the new BIOS standard called UEFI. If you're not there yet, Seagate has an alternative.

Free DiscWizard software from Seagate provides you a means to effectively utilize your 3TB and 4TB Seagate Desktop HDDs, even with Windows XP and using the standard PC BIOS.

What's in the Box

Seagate Desktop HDD, free DiscWizard software (by download), interface cable, power cable, mounting screws, manual, and quick installation guide.

I bought the 2TB drive from Amazon, please be aware that this drive has only 1-year warranty, not the 5-year warranty some might think or in other stores.
I believe all the newer seagate drives carries only 1-year warranty now.

Edit:
You can see the picture I uploaded that shows it has 1-year warranty

4 bad drives in a row.

I was thinking it had to be me.

But I just got 2 New Seagate 2tb hdd from Frys and they are working fine.

The drives I got from Amazon would never spin up and never showed up in bios.

The same HDD from Frys using the same power and sata Cables worked.

Why? I don't know.

Maybe just bad luck.

Purchase and installed this item at the same time I bought a similar Western Digital product and both the Western Digital units went out within 60 days but this Item is still going strong. I would definitely recommend the Seagate over Western Digital.

Over three times as fast as 3 year old WD green. If it last 4-5 years it will be a winner

Built a Shuttle PC with two of these disks in a mirrored RAID. Love the price for the value. I'm normally a Western Digital fan, but these are working perfectly for me.

Update 6/23/2013:
One of the drives failed already. Starting to regret my decision to buy Seagate.
