Book Description

Take one desperate real estate agent… add a Navy SEAL who radiates sex through his pores… toss in a corpse, a pair of stilettos and a handful of friends, and watch the sparks fly…

Lieutenant Commander Mick Riley, a member of the fabled SEAL Team Six, can’t pull his eyes from Lacey Owens at the funeral of his mentor. Yet she is the type of woman he wants to avoid – the kind that gets him thinking about settling down, spawning kids, and finding lower-mortality employment.

Lacey has her own reasons for avoiding Mick. Tired of living in the shadow of her financial mogul sister, this real estate agent has tossed ethics aside to succeed in today’s beleaguered housing market. Her no-fail plan to land lucrative listings? Crashing the funerals of wealthy corpses with the hope their heirs will need to sell their homes.

But when their circles of friends collide, Lacey can’t avoid Mick’s rock-hard abs and a smile that melts her into a pool of hot wax. Friendship blossoms and passion simmers... even as she struggles to conceal the unethical business plan that brought him into her life.

SEAL the Deal is a full-length novel about the fine line that divides friendship and love, and the unexpected joy of crossing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good read. February 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was sort of hard to get into for the first few chapters, but once I did it was so hard to put down. The writing was excellent and the story just seem to flow effortlessly.

After years and years working at about every kind of job you can think of....Lacy Owens has decided to try a career as a realtor, but things are moving way to slow and she's finding it very hard to keep her head above water. She decides to watch the obit pages in the newspaper with hopes to find potential clients in the future. She been to a few funerals already, but this time she runs into a brick wall aka; Lieutenant Commander Mick Riley, and as a result she ends up flat on her back.

Lieutenant Commander Mick Riley, a member of the fabled SEAL Team Six, can't pull his eyes from Lacey Owens at the funeral of his mentor. There is just something about her that he can't shake. She's not a raving beauty like most of the women he's dated in the past, but that doesn't really seem to matter in this case, because he still can't seem to get her out of his head for some reason.

After agreeing to dinner together, they decide to become friends. It all works fine for a little while anyway....They play scrabble or monopoly with a group of their friends, or they all just hang out and share dinner & drinks together. But the attraction towards one another becomes to strong for either one of them to ignore. Her friends tell her not to worry about the future, just live for today. The trouble is...she's not the just "love em' and leave em'" type of person and he's not the settling down type. He's married to his career and could be called back into action at any time. If she let's herself fall in love with someone like him, she could be in for a world of hurt when he picks up and leaves her behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book by a new-to-me author May 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ms Aster is a very pleasant surprise. Here's a woman who is a new author to me who writes well! That's almost unheard of with so many authors these days. In addition to an interesting plot and very likeable characters, she obviously edited and proofread her work. The plot flows beautifully and is realistic. I hope Ms Aster is working hard on her next novel. She'll be on my buy list. This is one that will be on my re-read at some time in the future list as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing October 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I happen to be quite an avid romance reader. I probably read more than 2 books a week depending on length and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review. Given that this was Kate Aster's first e book I felt I was taking a chance. But I was drawn in from the get go. The characters are well thought out. The book is well written. There was no points where I felt like I wanted to take a nap. I laughed, I cried and to me that makes for a wonderful read. I hope she continues with the other characters stories. I would love to read more about Maeve, Jack, or Bess. It would make for a great series. Also we should take a moment to treasure a military book who actually honors those men and women who serve our country every day. Well done Kate!

Loved it! This book is a perfect pool-side companion. It evokes all the feelings a good romance novel should, but also introduces us to some very loving characters. Really looking forward to a sequel from Ms. Aster!

5.0 out of 5 stars I liked it June 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book, loved the characters and the story. I would definitely read books by this author again. Sometimes e-books can be a bit of a lucky dip - a lot of them turn out to be terrible ... but this book was really good, you should try it.
