A realistic romance...a great read!, March 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
I have read A LOT of romance novels from several different authors, but this is the first one that has stayed with me for weeks. It's romantic, of course, (I could feel the romance between Marc and Tabby in my heart for days!) but it's also realistic. It's sexy without being sappy; humorous without being corny; and descriptive without being boring. What I truly liked was the fact that as a civilian (with absolutely no knowledge of any policies or procedures of the military), I could read and follow the action. She used military terms as they would be used, then carefully explained them in the following sentences. This is a gifted author who has (hopefully) just begun. Read "SEAL it with a Kiss" and find out why! Ms. Brewer: KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

A fast paced Navy romance charged with sexual tension., March 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
Commander Marc Miller is everything a hero should be. The tension sizzles as he goes toe-to-toe with Lt. Tabby Chapel. Her goal is to complete a feasibility study to prove women can make it in the SEAL's, and his mission is to prove otherwise. Ms.Brewer has done her homework. The military details are authentic. Every secondary character in the book rings true with a unique voice, from Manny the bartender to Hugh the cocky instructor. A fast paced read, charged with sexual tension, a compelling plot and lots of humor. If that isn't enough, Marc Miller is featured on the cover, and as described in the book, he's one heck of a man in uniform!

powerful military romance, February 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
Women need not apply is the motto of the Navy SEALs. So when Lieutenant Tabitha Chapel reports for duty at the Naval Special Warfare Center in Coronado, California, Commander Marc Miller is not just unhappy. He is irate. Marc cannot understand what strings Tabitha pulled to get her the assignment of potentially being the first female SEAL. However, Marc plans to insure that her persoanl goal is not achieved under his watch. Marc tries to force her out of his command using two fronts. He cuts no slack, expecting her to work at the same competency level as the guys and he works her reassignment through the chain-of-command. However, he finds Tabitha exceeding the standards and her powerful connections reject his efforts to move her elsewhere. As he begins to admire her tenacity and effort, he reassesses his original position on women in the SEALs. He also finds himself falling in love with his subordinate, a feeling that Tabitha shares with her superior officer. Life has become extremely complex as they want each other, but his position will not allow a relationship, nor will her goal. Rogenna Brewer writes a fabulous military romance that will garner the author many accolades from sub-genre fans. The exciting story line demonstrates that if someone wants something strongly enough, they will move the planet without a lever to achieve it. However, SEAL IT WITH A KISS is clearly a character-driven tale as the tug of war between tradition and the breaking down of artificial barriers are seen through the eyes, hearts, and minds of the lead protagonists. The "In Uniform" series constantly keeps the bar of excellence at a very high level and this novel attains that lofty monthly achievement. Harriet Klausner

Stared reading and couldn't put it down until I finished., March 3, 1999

This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
Seal It With A Kiss is an execllent book. Once I started reading it I couldn't stop until I had finished it. I really enjoy reading about Seal teams or other special elite teams. This book hooks you the minute you start reading it and won't let go until you finish it. I love it when the main characters have conflicts between them that they have to work out, it makes the story more believable. Tabitha and Marc start out with a major conflict as well as being attracted to each other. Rogenna has a way of tying everthing and everybody together with a smooth way that makes everything just seem to flow like it should. I love to read a book that keeps your interest from start to finish, so you can't stop until you get done. I can't wait for her next book to come out. The information she uses about the seal's and seal trainning agrees with other books I've read or movies I've seen. Rogenna keep them coming and keep up the good work. Belinda

This is as god as it gets, May 7, 2000

It's about time someone wrote a book about real people. The romance never overtakes the story, and the characters are strong. No simpering virgins or commitment phobias here. This book makes you feel like you want to be a part of the powerful world it represents, to be the cream of the crop- en elite navy SEAL. And it does it without corny dialogue or a sense of unrealism that is so prevalent in other romantic novels. Bravo!

Everyone else has said so eloquently what a good read this was. I loved it, from the Dennis Quaid lookalike on the cover, all the way through. I couldn't put it down. "I laughed, I cried, ..." Best line in the book, "Do not launch the Trident Missile". Get this book!

Cannot Put Down This Book!, May 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
After reading romance novels for the past 25 years, there have been many, many that I have enjoyed; but none hastotally bowled me over like this book!! The characterizations are 3-dimensional;the dialogue is crisp; and the discription is fascinating and never boring. As an Air Force daughter for 23years and an Army wife for 36 years, Inaturally enjoy books with a militarybackground and could easily follow thisbook with its Navy terminology, policies, and procedures. This book waslike a living entity that I could notput down and which has stayed with me for weeks. This is the first book thatI have ever contemplated reading all over again! Towards the end, I kept saying to myself, "how is this book going to end happily-ever-after and still keep Marc's and Tabby's integrityintact?" Well, read the book; and you'll find out! Cannot wait for thenext Rogenna Brewer book, and that's thebest review of all!!

Compelling and Romantic, April 3, 1999
This review is from: SEAL It with a Kiss: In Uniform (Harlequin Superromance, No. 833) (Paperback)
Beautifully written book. It was sooooo good I e-mailed the author as soon as I finished it to tell her I loved it and could not put it down. It is better than most formulaic romance novels and I love the military edge. Strong leads and secondary characters with a tightly written plot and lots of romantic sizzle keep the book racing along to its inevitable happy-ever-after finish...well worth the money. I eagerly await any book she writes!!!
