Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

In this lively paranormal, Spear takes readers on a pulse-pounding ride from the Amazon to a Christmas tree farm in Oregon. Bjornolf Jorgenson and his team of SEAL werewolves (last seen in A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing) are on a rescue mission to Colombia when they discover the family they've been sent to rescue might not be innocent victims. After a successful extraction, Bjornolf and fellow agent Anna Johnson agree to pose as a newlywed couple, uncle and aunt to a recently orphaned teenage wolf, while the team searches for answers. They discover a suspicious connection between the tree farm owner and the pharmaceutical executive they rescued—and from there, the pieces begin to form a grim picture, involving several murdered DEA agents and a young wolf who is unaware of her status. In between red-hot love scenes, Bjornolf and Anna race to find the truth before one of them—or someone they love—is killed. Christmas elements are scant, but there's plenty of action. (Oct.)

More About the Author

USA TODAY bestselling, and award-winning author and creator of award-winning teddy bears who have found homes all over the world including Australia, Switzerland, China, and Russia, and a retired officer of the US Army Reserves, I love to plant trees and flowers and if I could, I'd turn all the deserts green. Time travels are my favorite read, although I love to read most anything, and the Bourne series, Romancing the Stone, Sixth Sense, Legend, The Princess Bride, Stardust, Inkheart, LOTR, and tons of other movies are my favorites.

I love to research, to make urban fantasy worlds real, to bring a little of the paranormal into our world. Even in "Winning the Highlander's Heart" the heroine feels she is cursed and she has second sight. But I try to do it in a way that feels real, and not fantasized. :) Currently, I'm working on book 2 of the new jaguar shifter series, but still am working on wolf book number 12 and 13! So more hunky wolves to come! A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing has just released.

I was super excited when I received A SEAL Wolf Christmas. I had been looking forward to this book for a while because her Heart of the Wolf series is among my favorite ones to read.

Navy SEAL Bjornolf Jorgenson was asked to covertly follow and help if needed a rescue mission. He doesn’t have a problem with this because he enjoys keeping his eye on Anna Johnson one of the team members. While on their way home he and Anna are asked to help out in another mission. To help an orphan teen wolf named Nathan and to discover who the dead wolves are that Nathan has seemed to come across on the Christmas Tree Farm he is working at. Only when the get there do they realize there may be even more going on than they expected…

Both Bjornolf and Anna are strong wolves, each with their own baggage. Anna has never celebrated Christmas before so Nathan and Bjornolf want to make sure she has a happy Holiday. I enjoyed the romance between Anna and Bjornolf and I also enjoyed watching their relationship with Nathan develop. This story has a lot of touching moments and many interesting twists and turns. The plot moves along at a smooth pace and before I knew it I had finished this book in just a day.

As a fan of Ms. Spear’s books, this novel has everything I have come to expect from her wonderful writing. A SEAL Wolf Christmas is book number 12 in the Heart of the Wolf series. While it does work as a standalone it is my opinion that you will enjoy it so much more if you read the rest of a series. These books are the perfect mix of Paranormal (shifters) Romance, the Military and the Christmas Holiday. I am already looking forward to the next book Silence of the Wolf due to be published February 2014.

Terry Spear writes these wonderful shifter stories! Part of what makes them fantastic is her attention to detail. Her research into wolf and pack life helps her write intecrite and unique stories. Seal Wolf Christmas is one of those stories. The latest in her ongoing werewolf series takes us back to the Oregon cost and the packs that live there.

Anna Johnson can take care of herself. As the only female on her elite werewolf SEAL team she takes pride in her ability to hold her own. She holds the respect and friendship of every person on the team. But like many other strong females what makes her a strong team mate also makes her intimidating to other men...

Bjornolf Jorgenson is a lone wolf. Not by nature but by design. He has spent a lifetime punishing himself for an accident beyond his control. But he is still a protector at heart. This makes him a unique member of the SEAL family. Instead on going on missions as part of the team he goes in as an invisible back up, shadowing teams on dangerous missions. On his latest mission he has been sent to shadow Hunter's team. Which allows him to do his favorite thing, watch Anna.

Bjornolf and Anna are a delightful couple. Sure they each have history and baggage yet it defines them not destroys them. When Hunter asks them to take on a mission close to home, acting as a married couple, fantasy soon becomes reality. It was an interesting switch up watching these two slide into a relationship.

There is a wonderful secondary story about teenage love, murder and mayhem. A great story only made better by Ms. Spear's attention to detail. Enjoy this series all..I sure do.

REVIEW:
Bjornolf & Anna have a history that not many know about. Well not much of a history as a fleeting moment of time. But that was enough time for both to realize that there was something more between them. But the job always comes first right?

I enjoyed this book very much even if I could not figure out how to pronounce Bjornolf's name. Why do authors have to pick the most complicated names on the planet. Anyways. I really enjoyed B & Anna's story. This was my first trip to the Heart of the Wolf series and I do plan on returning and reading the complete series in the very near future. While part of a series A SEAL Wolf Christmas easily reads as a stand alone book. Although I would have like to see the initial interaction between B & Anna. *wink, wink*

I love shifters (I may be addicted) and I love Christmas stories, so when I saw this read by Terry Spears, I knew I had to read it. I know it is not even Thanksgiving yet, but Christmas themed books really can and, in my opinion, should be read all year long :) . This was such a fun read. It had adventure, a bit of mystery, love, darkish pasts, and Christmas. It was the perfect read for a shifter addict in me as I start to get ready for the holidays. The characters were likable and easy to relate to. The story was paced wonderfully and kept me glued to my ereader. It was everything I have come to expect from Terry Spears.

While I have read quite a few of Terry's shifter books, the Seal series is not one I know a ton about and I was worried that I would be missing key info and it would make my read less enjoyable. I should have known better. Terry has a way of making the books in her series all connected, but at the same time making them read beautifully as stand alones. If you like shifters, adventure, a bit of mystery, true love, and watching people rediscover the joy of Christmas, this book is probably the perfect read as you get ready for the holidays.
