Book Description

All proceeds from sales of SEAL of My Dreams go to the Veterans Research Corporation, a non-profit fundraiser for veterans’ medical research.

Honor, duty, courage, passion . . . the men of the Navy SEALs are a special breed of hero, and in these novellas by eighteen top romance authors the SEALs are celebrated not only as symbols of devoted service to their country but as the kind of men every woman wants to love. They’ll rescue a damsel in distress and her lap dog, too. They’ll battle hometown dramas and international bad guys. When it comes to giving away their hearts, they’ll risk everything.

Between them, the authors of SEAL of My Dreams have won dozens of writing awards including multiple RITAs from Romance Writers of America. Their nearly 600 published novels have sold at least 35 million copies worldwide. The SEAL of My Dreams roster includes many of the best-known authors in modern romance fiction. In addition, many have strong family connections to the servicemen and women of our nation’s military, and many specialize in novels featuring heroes and heroines from all branches of service.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gets my 'SEAL' of approval:) November 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
In honor of Veteran's Day, this collection offers 18 stories by some pretty well known A-list suspense and special ops romance authors and all the proceeds go to a good cause - Veteran's medical Research. As someone pointed out, at 380 print pages, each author doesn't get very much space to tell a story but a few of the stories were decent short story length and even those that were really short were long enough to get the job done. There were less stories with SEALS on a mission here, than those with SEALs coming home and a few had wounded warriors, but the one with the MIA was the most touching.

Here's a quick blurb for each and the kindle percentages to give you an idea of length (I am making a stab and giving a rounded page count estimate based on the percentages - so they may not add up perfectly - they're just a FYI)

Jami Alden "Coming Home" - Coming home for the first time in nine years for his mother's funeral, a SEAL comes face to face with the reason for his long absence - pretty good (1% to 5% ~ 15 pages)

Stephanie Bond "Baby I'm Back" - Going back to the beginning, offers both an ending and a new beginning for a SEAL - I liked it(5% to 8% ~ 11 pages)

Kylie Brant "SEALed Fates" - An ex-SEAL's special talents are going to come in handy when a childhood friend comes home and prepares for a 'seige' - I liked this one too (12%-18% ~ 23 pages)

Helen Brenna "Going Dark" - Will a SEAL who follows his instincts stay on mission or choose to help the woman who played him?

5.0 out of 5 stars Yowsa! October 28, 2011
Format:Paperback
Oh my. Had a chance to read a review copy of this book. If you love romance with a tinge of patriotism, are AWED by the Navy SEALs, believe in supporting the troops and/or all of the above, you will love, love, love this anthology as I did. It is fat, some of the stories read more like novellas, so you are certainly getting your money's worth if you buy it, and I am getting it as a gift for several girlfriends who are married to a military man . The best thing is that all of the proceeds are being donated -- ALL -- to a charity organization that raises money for veterans' medical research. However, set aside the good buyers are doing in buying the book. Remember when Richard Gere swept Deborah Winger in his arms at the end of "An Officer and A Gentleman?" Or, when Tom Cruise got on his knees and sang The Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" to his gal in "Top Gun?" THAT'S what I'm talking about -- ultimate romance. A thoroughly satisfying experience that makes you feel all happy and patriotic at the same time, because you are doing good and being swept of your feet at the same time ... in the comfort of your own cosy chair or special spot. I think anyone who enjoys a happy ending will enjoy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for a great cause November 11, 2011
Format:Paperback
With Eighteen different stories, there really is something for all romantic readers in this book. Many of the stories are pretty tame romantically, but they do have heart and character and I love that the entire proceeds from this book are going to a great cause! I also love that I've found some new authors to check out, because while there were several names I immediately recognized, there were also several authors whose work I need to find out about! Besides, who can resist a great man in uniform!

One of the things I liked most was the diversity of characters - veterans, active duty, strong female characters, all from all over the US - a great way to pass the time and these novellas were a great length - not too long or too short... and some of them packed a wallop.

I received a digital ARC of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Who's Who of Romantic Military Suspense Authors November 14, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Cindy Gerard, Stephanie Tyler, Tara Janzen, Alison Kent, Elle Kennedy, Leslie Kelly, Gennita Low, and eleven other terrific authors make up this anthology. The stories range from a promise of a beginning to heartfelt reunions. The heroes run the gamut from active duty to recent amputees to warriors struggling with PTSD. There is truly something for everyone here.

I enjoyed all of the short stories, which I was happy about. That doesn't often happen, especially with eighteen offerings. There were some standouts, particularly Cindy Gerard's, which I read with one hand covering my face...poor Luke, hasn't he been through enough?! It was great catching up with Stephanie Tyler's brothers from the Hard To Hold Trilogy. The Steele Street boys get a mention in Tara Janzen's piece, and Gennita Low...well, she is one of my all time favorites. Very strong selections from Alison Kent, Elle Kennedy and Leslie Kelly. I feel a fangirl SQUEE! coming on!

So for the purchase price, I got to catch up with some of my all time favorite series, read some authors I hadn't had the pleasure of reading before and all of the proceeds go to Veterans Research Corporation, a non-profit fundraiser for veterans' medical research. Such a win for everyone.

Bottom line, this is a terrific book that helps support a very worthwhile cause. Worth every penny!
