Don't miss this one!,

This review is from: The SEAL's Baby: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1223) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've thoroughly enjoyed all of Rogenna Brewer's characters, but Hannah and Mike will stay tucked away in a corner of my heart. Once again the author has drawn on her own Navy days to craft a story that's compelling and rich in miltiary detail. Don't miss this one!

A gripping, moving story!,

Rogenna Brewer has a talent for sweeping the reader into a world that seems real. I found this book to be full of action and emotion--a very nice balance. Ms. Brewer's military background shines through, adding realism to the story of Mike and Hannah, two people brought together by a baby neither one planned, but both love. Hannah is a strong, smart woman that I liked very much. Her fierce loyalty to both her baby and her country made her a great heroine. And Mike--well, he's so yummy, he can rescue me from the bad guys any day! Fans of Suzanne Brockman will love Rogenna Brewer. If you're looking for a good read, I highly recommend this book.

by The SEAL's Baby. I was drawn right in by the attention to miltary detail and the yummy hero, Commander Mike McCaffrey. A timely and realistic story, Brewer gives the reader a fresh and original take on the "secret baby" theme. She is especially adept at characterization and dialogue. Her characters come alive. You'll especially love the sweet ending to Mike and Hannah's story. The SEAL's Baby delivers.

A Fantastic Military Romance,

I bought this book after I saw that it'd made the Waldenbooks bestsellers' list for series romance, and I was definitely not disappointed. Rogenna Brewer delivers a well-crafted, highly charged story with engaging characters. Mike, the hero, is especially drool-worthy, and Hannah is a perfect match for him. And it's clear that this author knows her stuff when it comes to the military. I look forward to her next book.

DELECTABLE ROMANCE - YUCKY FEAMALE,
By
This review is from: The SEAL's Baby: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1223) (Mass Market Paperback)
The SEAL's Baby was a very enjoyble read. But come on, Mike McCaffrey doesn't want children - Hannah Stanton accidentally gets pregnant. She doesn't tell him [she's been training with his group for about 4 years]she is 32 or 33 and she is just finally getting aroung to wanting children. Entering the dangerous age group [generally speaking]. She has troubles because her father, a SEAL, didn't come home to celebrate her 7th birthday, yet she is involved with the same organization. Since when has she always wanted to fly? Then she doesn't have guts enough to retire for her child's sake. Weekend warrior, there is no such thing. War games are deadly serious. Yet she is taking a serious risk in leaving her baby with no parents. Nope, she doesn't rate very high in my estimation. Now "Mac" has serious problems, Ha! condoms are no guarentee, and yet the hormones take over. What do these guys think they are, studs? [Sorry, my stallions have a better outlook on life] And Sammy, she thinks she can shop around through the SEALs for a man. Tell us what happens to "Hollywood" - can't decide if he is in love with Hannah or not. Needed more info on the supporting characters - but the story was an enjoyable read. RECOMMEND with no high expectations. Still love those guys in Uniform - their dedication and sacrifice warrants our support.

Disappointing,
This review is from: The SEAL's Baby: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1223) (Mass Market Paperback)
Being on a SEAL kick right now, I picked this book up the other day hoping for a fun read. Unfortunately, I was horribly disappointed. Although the story line had potential, the writing was so horrid that it was a complete waste of my time. The dialog was contrived, the interactions not at all believable, and the characters only a sketch of what they could have been. Brewer also included way too many subplots, without fleshing any of them out enough to make them interesting. I'm sorry, but this book couldn't hold a candle to Dee Henderson's Uncommon Heroes series or to Suzanne Brockmann's SEAL books.
