5.0 out of 5 stars Price gouging
This product is no longer manufactured. Because of this, the price has jumped at least $10 because it is now very hard to find, if you can find it at all. It's something I have been using for years, but there are other products with similar results available. In this economy, I refuse to be price gouged.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work like the original Crude Clay
My hair is the typical strong, thick, heavy Asian hair that doesn't respond well to a lot of hair products. The original Crude Clay worked like a charm.

Although some people seem to say that Craft Clay is the same as Crude Clay, I'm not finding this true at all. Craft Clay's smell is different, the texture is softer, and when applied, it definitely doesn't...

My hair is the typical strong, thick, heavy Asian hair that doesn't respond well to a lot of hair products. The original Crude Clay worked like a charm.

Although some people seem to say that Craft Clay is the same as Crude Clay, I'm not finding this true at all. Craft Clay's smell is different, the texture is softer, and when applied, it definitely doesn't style and hold my hair like Crude Clay did. Everything goes very soft very quickly.

Disappointing, I'm afraid to say.

Works really well to thicken, add texture and style hair. It doesn't feel sticky afterward, a plus for your significant other, and you only need a very small amount so it lasts a long time.

I have been searching for years for the right hair product and finally found it. It works great for my difficult to style fine hair (fine in width). I first discovered it when my roommate was using it.

Its just what you need if you want excellent hold without the greasy look most gels and pomades give you. It gives your hair a very natural, organic look while holding it where you want.

Being little more than pure clay, it allows you to shape your hair just like a clay sculpture without any globiness or discoloring. Particularly if you have fine hair that is hard to work with, buy this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the same as the ol' stuff, August 17, 2011
This review is from: SEBASTIAN Xtah Raw Modeler Hair Crude Clay 1.7oz (Health and Beauty)
As expressed by many others, this new craft clay does not have the same hold as the old crude clay. For those with straight, fine hair that lacks body, look for something else. I was devoted to Crude Clay for the past 10 years. I am very disappointed now.

Was really bummed out when the Xtah Crude Clay was discontinued, but after reading a review on the Sebastian Craft Clay, that it was basically the same only re-packaged with a new name, I thought I would give it a try... Like it! and it's pretty darn close. Recommend if you were a Crude Clay lover.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stop whining about Crude Clay, March 3, 2010

This review is from: SEBASTIAN Xtah Raw Modeler Hair Crude Clay 1.7oz (Health and Beauty)
This stuff works just as good. The consistency is a little diff from Crude Clay... but they work about 95% the same.

It might seem semi-pricey to some, but in the salon its MUCH more expensive... and that's IF you can find it. Also, good hair product is expensive (in most cases).

If you want something not too greasy, gives great volume and styles your hair the way you want it (I have a faux-hawk); this stuff works great! Put a little hairspray after your done styling, and your ready for the evening.

Use a moderate amount, less than you might think is needed. You can add an spray gloss to the hair, if you like. Holds without making your hair look greasy.

This review is from: SEBASTIAN Xtah Raw Modeler Hair Crude Clay 1.7oz (Health and Beauty)
My first clay hair product I've ever bought.
It's alright- not sure what it is suppose to do to my hair, but
it does give my hair more texture.
