For the price of this sega compilation pc games is great. Second of all the games play great and look great. I love Vectorman!!!. I recommend using a joypad/controller for a better gaming experience and the save at anytime. The fact that you can download it super fast to as many pc you own its a plus. Get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great games at a great price. January 11, 2013

I love these games. Even though I own them in their original Sega Genesis cart version and on the xbox 360 hits collection I cannot seem to get enough of these games. Now when my children are taking up the gaming tv I can still play them on the computer. A word of warning though, it seems that sega will release a couple of games singularly before releasing the set so when one of you favorites appears as a lone game you might want to wait a couple of weeks to see if the next classic series will contain them

3.0 out of 5 stars Pros & Cons April 5, 2011
Verified Purchase
Retro gamers wanting to rock Genesis games on their PC now have a decent option to emulators. NOTE: I said, "decent". There are some obvious PROS & CONS and emus (Kega Fusion, Gens 32) still do a far better job, minus the hang-ups.

PROS:
Pretty good selection of Genesis fan favorites, $7.50 for 10 games easily edges out the Wii's Virtual console ($6-$10 for a single game), controls easily map to a USB gamepad (I use the Logitech Dual Action).

CONS:
Steep system requirements (1.6GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 32MB video card for 16 Bit era games? WTF?), some big-time fan favs got left out -like "Phantasy Star 4" and "Beyond Oasis", no support for Linux nor Mac.

Bottom Line: *MIXED BAG* If you don't feel right about using emulators, SGCS (volumes 1-4) is a safe bet. But it loses this battle to Kega Fusion in a landslide. Amazon needs to lower the system requirements, acknowledge Linux and Mac users and throw in some more fan favs if they wish to compete with the emulators.
