For people who like a challenge,

First off, you should know that this game has practically no replay value. However, the first time you play it is a blast. It says that you can play with a buddy, fighting the forces of evil, but this is an awful way to play considering that one of the players has to use the keyboard to move the crosshair. That makes it virtually impossible for you to beat the final boss, because he moves so fast. Also, you should definitley not play if you get tired easily. You have to click the mouse like a million clicks a second, just to kill a regular boss. you can eaily get carple tunnel syndrome from playing this game too much. I found that I had to pause the game a couple of times, just to let my wrist rest for twenty minutes. I would give 4/5 stars on graphics. I see myself as a very skilled gamer, but even I had much trouble defeating the final boss. I probably spent a total of 2 hours playing this game. The game is not very realistic, but it is not supposed to be. I really liked how there are quite a number of different paths that you can take throughout the game. My mom really didn't like me playing this game...oh well. So, I gave it 3 stars because of its short gameplay, and inevitable pain, but i only bought it for 5 bucks at a store, so it was well worth it. Its not really a bad game at all. I say if you see it for $10 or less get it, but if you don't, get Time Splitters cheap on ebay.

Way too fast.,

This is a fun game but way too fast and does not allow enough time to shoot everything. It does not take long for your hand to get tired and the lack of a auto reload is irritating. It would be nice to be able to move your character and choose your own path as in Quake. This is a difficult game due to its speed. I have not been able finish the training mode. The graphics are great but the game would be much more fun if there was some way to slow it down.

Best played with the Light Guns,
By A Customer
This review is from: SEGA House of the Dead 2 (CD-ROM)
This is an arcade-perfect conversion of HOTD2. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all top notch (assuming you like rail-shooters to begin with). In Japan, this game shipped with a light gun for the PC. But not in Europe or North America. However, you CAN play this game with the Act Labs PC USB light gun. You can even get two light guns and play two players! A friend of mine recently came to visit me, and we spent several hours a day shooting zombies together. It was every bit as fun, and so much less expensive than playing this game at the local arcade. If you like rail shooters, this is one of the best on any platform. Without a doubt, the best on the PC. You can play this game with a mouse, keyboard, or joystick/gamepad. But I highly recommend getting at least one light gun, if not two. It's how the game was meant to be played.

Cool game, horrible voice acting!!!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: SEGA House of the Dead 2 (CD-ROM)
This game is pretty neat. If you are player 1 then you are this guy named James (no not James Bond). This game has so so graphics. What really sucks the coolness out of this game is the voice acting. The characters sound like mindless robots!!! There is barely any emotion in the voice acting!!! And the game is kind of short. But the reason that I gave this game a 5 star rating is because of the good controls and gameplay. So all in all, the games strong points make up for its weak points. It is worth the money. This game has a LOT of (green) blood and gore but it is very unrealistic.

Guts, gore, blood, mindless action, and cheesy voice acting,
By NomadLLama (Naperville, Illinois United States) - See all my reviews

House of the Dead 2 is a very bloody game. if you are squeamish and hate the sight of blood, do not buy it! i mean, if you have a big monitor and shoot zombies like crazy (btw there are a lot of them) there will be a bloodfest. the gameplay is a bit repetitive. all you do is repeatedly aim, shoot, and reload with an unlimited supply of ammo. there is a story to the game but the voice acting to present it is really bad. hearing "Don't come!" and "How could anyone do this?" lifelessy is kinda bad. max payne has better voice acting. but get this game for the computer if you like the arcade version. at 50cents per game at an arcade, paying 10-20 bucks for this game is not bad.

"The House of the Dead" & its sequel were smash-hit arcade games. Now you can blast those zombies & demon creatures all day @ home. And this version comes with cool extras like Boss Mode, Arcade Mode, & Original Mode. I love picking up all those cool secret "Infinite Credits" bonuses. Get the player's guide for cool tips & tricks to obtain bonus items!!!! HOTD2 is one of the best video games EVER!!!Oh Yeah, Magician is my favourite boss. He's the fireball-shooting demon with exposed muscles from THOTD, back for revenge. I beat him in less than a minute, No Joke!!!!!!

This game is great! The graphics are exellent, the sound is average, the game layout is awsome! The 1st HOTHD is NOTHING compared to this one!!!! The only bad thing about it is that if you have it for the PC it only works with some gamepads and it takes a while to change the blood color( ya gotta beat the game in oringinal mode a couple times)and if you get it for the PC install directX8 twice because it might not install correctly and the game will come out [bad].o yeah and i beat magician in 46 seconds!
