This review is from: SENNHEISER MX55V STREET SERIES TWIST-TO-FIT EARBUDS WITH BASSWINDTM SYSTEM (Electronics)
After YEARS of trying to find a pair of earbuds that sounded great, stayed in my ears and didn't cost hundreds of dollars, I think I've found them. These earbids have excellent sound, and there's really nothing else out there like the "twist to fit" thing. Once you get the hang of them, the earbuds go in and stay put, in a much less intrusive way than foam or silicone inserts.
My only complaints are: 1) the asymmetrical cord is not my favorite style, but it's not a deal-breaker; 2) the cord does not straighten out easily (ie, the coiling from the packaging doesn't go away after you unpack them); 3) the prong that keeps the earbuds in place can get a little uncomfortable with extended use (but it's not really all that bad). Other than that, I've found the sound to be rich and warm and I can't get over how solidly they stay where I want them to stay!

Too good for ear-bud headphones,

This review is from: SENNHEISER MX55V STREET SERIES TWIST-TO-FIT EARBUDS WITH BASSWINDTM SYSTEM (Electronics)
I ordered these for my iRiver H10 and really expected a lot for that price, but what I got was even more than I expected.
The looks, the accessories and the oppurtunity to make them really custom as it comes to fitting any ear form, that's fantastic. As it comes to the sound, it is just terrific!!! With the twist-to-fit-system and the sennheiser bass system you get an incredible sound that usually doesn't come with earbud headphones. I am afraid these can compete with big headphones that cover the whole ear; unbelievable:))) And just a minor hint: if you buy these be carefull what you do while wearing them cause the they are hook shaped and they try to get hold on anything around them; if you are not aware of this fact you might easily tear them apart!!!

Finally, my quest for the perfect earbuds is over!,

I just got these headphones today, and they are, quite simply, the best earbuds I've ever used. They come with a total of 19 interchangable parts to ensure that they fit your ears perfectly. They're a bit uncomfortable going in/coming out, but once they're in, your in for a very comfortable music experience. The bass in these earbuds is much stronger than the other earbuds I've tried, and the sound quality is likewise much stronger than most other earbuds. My only problem with these earbuds is that the cord is asymmetrical, with about an extra foot for the right earbud (of course, some people like this feature, so this would be a plus for them)
Pros Sound quality, comfort, stays in your ears Cons Asymmetrical cord Bottom Line 4 stars if you don't like asymmetrical cords 5 stars if you do Buy these headphones unless your prone to losing them, or you don't use headphones very often (they aren't worth the forty dollars if you use them once every six months, but are a bargain if you use them constantly).

Sennheiser MX 55 - Goofy Goodness,
By
This review is from: SENNHEISER MX55V STREET SERIES TWIST-TO-FIT EARBUDS WITH BASSWINDTM SYSTEM (Electronics)
Introduction:
Initially, I purchased this product as a replacement for my iPod's poor sounding and uncomfortable ear buds. The appearance of the black Sennheiser MX 55 was also a much better match for my black U2 iPod than the standard white ear buds that ship with them. My purchase however, has not been free from cognitive dissonance. Pros: 1. Great sound 2. Fantastically adjustable with rubber ear-anchor pieces and ear inserts 3. Volume control can be handy (I don't use it however) 4. Great low price 5. Fabric carrying case included, with Velcro latch 6. Great length on the headphone cord Cons: 1. Goofy asymmetrical design (it might be cool to some people, but it just ends up tangling the cord for me and making this product less usable, as I have to spend more time untangling the wires) 2. The carrying case is almost like an IQ test! I can't figure out how to place the ear buds inside and make them use-able or alternatively, how to simply use it for storage; the case is a real pain to keep opening and closing. Sennheiser should have included a case similar to their MX 500 ear buds. 3. The cord tangles easily - I would recommend keeping a twist-tie close at hand and simply looping the ear buds back up and then tying them when done to minimize tangles. Conclusion: Overall, this is a great product with a few quirky features, which prevent me from heartily endorsing it. If you are searching for great in ear sound at a budget price, I recommend these headphones, or Sennheiser's cx 300 model (the latter species also does not include a carrying case), which look great, but are somewhat more expensive.

Good ear buds with a catch,
By Dhampir (Cheeseheadlandistan, USA) - See all my reviews

In short: these ear buds are very good.
They have excellent sound quality and a wonderful carrying case (which also happens to be large enough for my mp3 player to fit in as well- doubly useful). The catch is the "twist to fit" design. The company includes several sizing pieces for the ear buds and it can take quite a bit of guesswork to figure out which are comfortable for you- once you find it, you can wear them for long periods of time without much fatigue. If you don't choose the right pieces for you, the ear buds are abysmally uncomfortable. Four out of five stars for a very good set of ear buds with a catch which will leave many people unhappy.

They won't fall out of your ears.,

The Twist-to-Fit feature is the little outrigger buttons attached to the earbuds. You twist them into the outer fold of your ear (the crest of the helix). I found them to be a little uncomfortable after several hours, but they are very secure. You have to yank very hard to get them to come out without untwisting them.
The right side is longer so you can loop it behind your neck.

Best of the ear-buds that I've tried!,

Believe me when I say I have run the gamut of ear bud and ear-canal type headphones for iPods and so far this is the best I've found of the ear-bud type (although ear canal such as Shure and Etymotic are definitely better and pricier). I find that the sound is as good as you can get for ear-buds and the overall design I find to be superior. Things I like:
1) I like the asymmetrical cords, I always know which one is left and which one is right. 2) The little ear-anchors may seem weird at first but they do seem to keep the buds from falling out of my ears so easily. 3) Volume control is awesome, I just grab it and turn down whenever I need to talk to somebody. 4) Bass is quite good. 5) cord length is about perfect (a previous pair of sennheisers had a too short cord). The only gripe I have about these babies: where is the CORD-CLIP fer chrissakes, why is Etymotic the only company than can put a little cord clip on their headsets????

sound is good but a little uncomfortable,

I expected these headphones to be better than they are for the price. They have pretty good sound and bass response but its not much of an improvement over $20 ear buds. They are a bit uncomfortable at first but after a while they are ok.I guess if they last longer than the cheaper headphones then they were worth it but I would not recommend them.
PS. You have to where the right cord behind your neck to keep the wire from coiling up and to reduce the pressure on your left ear.

Hey...The device works good and sound quality is competitive but it has 2 negative points.
1. The 2 buds may make the ear fitting perfect but if u are using them for long time(> 2 hours), they will really hurt you. 2. The wire of device is packaged in circular way so it will always entangle.

It has a long enough durable cord, and its design makes it fit really good in your ear. The sound quality is high as is expected from Sennheiser, but it's a little bit low in power. The volume variation is also not too much.
