I purchased this speaker for $50. It was on sale and I needed something for my deck and in my girls room at night, so I figured I'd try it. It suits both needs well. It comes with an AC adaptor, if you want to plug it in it takes alot of batteries, which they all do.

The sound quality is pretty good for the price. But, it sounds better with the ipod volume up higher, and the speaker volume down lower. When the speaker volume is up higher, there is a bit of hum.

cons: in reviewing other speakers, I think these cons are true for wireless speakers in general: There is some inteference, occasionally, with my girls baby monitor, but usually not. Also, if you don't have any music going, and just have the speaker on, you either hear static, or, occasionally, I have gotten a signal from somewhere else...don't know if it was someone talking on a cell phone or a radio station, I turned it off quickly.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase and will keep the speaker.

I purchased this speaker for just over $50 online. It was one of the best deals for outdoor wireless speakers that I could find. The unit is bigger than I anticipated, but it does look modern and nice with the black finish and blue mood lighting. The receiver has a USB hookup which allows you to charge your mp3 player while it is docked which is a really nice feature.

The sound quality is a lot better than I anticipated. A lot of mobile speakers don't carry much bass sound so you end up with a very bland sound. This unit has very nice bass so the quality of the sound is nice. The only complaint I have is that the volume doesn't get up that high. I had to crank the volume up on my mp3 player itself and then turn the volume of the speaker up quite high to get a nice sound that carried over my patio.

That said I don't think it is intended to create a party environment sound rather than nice ambient sound which it definitely does well. If you need anything that blasts music for say a party, you might need an amplifier or multiple speakers. My understanding is that this unit supports up to six speakers so you could technically buy several units and position them around for a louder more surrounding experience (which is another nice feature some of the outdoor units don't offer.)

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this speaker for outdoor use.

This Sentry wireless outdoor speaker and transmitter is a great product for not too much money. It has plenty of bass and treble and works thru 2 walls in my house to my outdoor deck!! Great value The only complaint is that it goes thru batteries(8 of them) at a pace way too fast. This can be eliminated by a electric hookup hich is included but then it is no longer wireless!!
