About the Author

Michael Fleischner is a search engine optimization (SEO) and Internet marketing expert with more than 14 years of online marketing experience. He has appeared on ABC World News, the TODAY Show, Bloomberg Radio, and other major media. I bought this book on the strength of its Amazon reviews. When I got to the end of the book, I found a paragraph that explains why this book has so many good reviews: The author actually extorts Amazon reviews from the reader right in the book!

In a carefully-worded final paragraph, he says "If you feel this book has provided value, please visit Amazon.com and write a review". He says "I will provide anyone who completes a review with access to my SEO training videos (a $297 value) absolutely FREE! Simply send a link to your review once posted on Amazon.com to <his email address>."

That is incredibly scummy. The guy asks for Amazon reviews "if you feel this book has provided value". Technically he didn't say he wouldn't give you the "$297 value" if you wrote a bad review, but since you have to send your review to the author before he can approve it, he knows that very few people will give him a bad review.

What's worse is that the book spends so much time promoting his website. He references his website all throughout the text, and he actually printed his web address as a footer on each and every page of the book! When you go to that web address, it tries to sell you training, consulting and tools. Unbelievable!

This kind of thing is the reason the public craves authenticity today. We have all dealt with BS telemarketers and used car salesmen who "have to run your offer past the manager" and we're tired of it. Nobody likes a swindler claiming they are giving you a FREE "$297 value". We know you just made that number up. You aren't fooling anybody.

Look, I already bought the book. Stop selling now and just give me the information that I paid for.

I can't recommend this book enough. As promised, it specifically outlines the steps needed to improve your PageRank. I heard of this book through a friend and his results are unbelievable.

This book helped me to understand more about SEO, and I applied a lot of the information to my own website. It's worth the Kindle price. However, as another reviewer stated, I was a little put off by the "used car salesman" tone, and I grew tired of how often the author praised himself for his own knowledge and skills. I conducted some of the searches, just as he instructed in the book, and he's no long the number one search result on Google. Oops.

Also, I wonder who edited his book... there are more typos and language errors than average, which takes away from his credibility and his message, no matter how successful he is in real life. Also, some of the URLs he includes no longer work, so you have to do some digging to find the information online if it still exists. That's a huge no-no in publishing: don't publish specific URLs in books. They change!

Bottom line: I got most of the information I wanted. I was just surprised that a marketing guru would put out such a poorly written and edited book.

I've come away from reading this book feeling much more enlightened and confident about the possibilities of implementing and using SEO strategies. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand how SEO works - even if for nothing more than to make sure you don't blindly pay for SEO services without understanding what is going on (and to be aware of and avoid black hat practices).

I have read many, many, MANY books about SEO and this is the only book that I have read that thoroughly explains what to do, and WHY it is important. I am thankful for all of the reviews I read here because it made me get this book and I will not regret making this simple read. Everything you need to know to rank well, and steps on how to do it, is all here in this book. I have never written a review for a book, but this one definitely deserves my time!

I've been trying to improve my rank in Google
for a long time now. All I was told is that I need
to "buy" back links in order to do this. As you know,
this can be very expensive when purchasing multiple software.
This book is awesome!! It has many ways in order to get ranked

For someone who has a basic understanding of SEO, but have not got his hands dirty on SEO completely, I found the book very informative. It lays down a plan, and explains the rationale behind it. I feel like I have a good enough starting point to start executing on a SEO strategy. For folks who complained that the book is too basic, you have to learn how to walk before you can run and that is exactly what I am planning to do!
