I used to be a big fan of the goody's elastics (you know-- the ones with the piece of metal in the middle that holds it together). I saw these at a Sephora store and thought I'd give them a shot. I actually didn't think they would fit around my ponytail, but they s-t-r-e-t-c-h a lot more than you would think. Since I've been using them, I've noticed a lot fewer hairs come out when I let down my hair from the ponytail, I have fewer split ends, and it doesn't hurt to put my hair up anymore. The goody's used to snap on me all the time, which meant they were trash. I've had the same pack of these since I bought them (about 6 months ago). I would highly recommend these to anyone who had the same problems that I had.

My hair is very fine and fragile, so putting it in a long braid and finding something to fasten the end of it has always been quite a challenge - most hair bands are too large (yes, really - the usual ones end up sliding right off, my pony tail is that small). They are also usually clunky looking or too casual looking. I like to put a band at the end of the braid which is close to impossible, since anything small enough or tight enough to stay on pulls hair out when I take it off, even the coated ones. I had been using the small cloth stretchy bands and doubling them back on themselves several times which did the job but then I looked like a first grader. Plus when taking them off I had to unloop them carefully, otherwise there would be a fair amount of broken off hair caught in them. Sometimes, out of desperation, I'd just use small black rubberbands made by Goody, but these always broke off a lot of hair so I either had to cut them off with scissors or just get all of my ends split up. So when I came across this item by accident when searching Sephora for something else, I figured I'd give it a try. What a wonderful surprise I got! They are absolutely fantastic - small and light, whatever they are made of is sleek and narrow, so the attention is no longer drawn to what is holding the end of my braid. I have to loop them around the end braid several times since my hair is so thin - but they don't ever slide off unlike everything else I've used, and I can pull them off gently and no hair breaks off! It seems to me that they would be even more fantastic for anyone who has more hair than I (which is probably 95% of the population). The packaging is fun, and cute - looks like a book of matches. These turned out to be so much better than I'd expected. I'd hoped only that they would blend into my hair (it is black), stay on without sliding off, and look like something an adult would use. Turns out they look great, they were unbelievably gentle on my very easy to break hair, are sturdy, and a real bargain, since a pack will last forever and only costs $3.50. I bought these around 3 months ago and am still using first one that I took out of the package. However today I am buying a few more packages, just in case Sephora ever stops making them.

Wear your hair in a pony tail or braid without having masses of your hair tangled around the band at the end of the day. Save your hair from breakage and invest in these Sephora Snag-Free Hair Elastics.

I have thick, wavy hair that tangles easily. These just slip right off when I want them to and stay in place the rest of the time. Very comfortable.

The elastics are stronger than I thought they would be. I have used the same one every night for 2 months. The elastics do not pull hair at all!

They're okay. They don't get stuck in my hair and pull it out, thank god.
But they are flimsy.. if you dont take care of them, they'll snap easy.
But other than that, awesome.
I just loose them often so i have to keep ubying lol.

These were simply "ok". I probably will not repurchase again. They are no better than drug store grade silicone bands.

They look flimsy but they actually wear pretty well and they're as good as you get for not damaging your hair. The best ponytail holders I've been able to find.
