I was looking for an adapter that would allow me to plug a 2.5mm headset of my choice (i.e., a mike & earpiece for hands-free operation) into my Samsung SGH-T219. Unfortunately that's not what this item does. On the Bargaincell website, it's pretty clear-- they say "For audio / music output only. Audio input not available." I wish it had been worded that clearly in this listing.

Searching around there seems to be a lot of adapters that do what this one does, and none as far as I can tell that do what I want. (If you happen to know of one, it'd be great to hear about it via a comment. TIA.)

I believed I was getting an adapter that would make it possible for me to use a hands-free headset for my Samsung phone. However, (as other reviewers had noted), it broke open the first day I had it even though it did snap back together. But also, IT IS NOT FOR HAVING CONVERSATIONS ON THE PHONE!!!! When I contacted the company by phone about this product, (after several e-mail contacts) they explained that it is not MEANT to be used for conversation - the adapter is called "audio headset adapter" and is only MEANT to be used for listening to music. Why on earth would I care to listen to music from my cell phone? Anyway, before we determined that it was the wrong piece of equipment they had volunteered to send me another adapter and they DID respond to my e-mails and phone calls, so their customer service is good.I SURE WISH THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT THAT!!!!!

Not sure what the problem was with this thing but it didn't work at all.

I had this adapter for about 1 day when I accidently dropped it. The plugin portion of the adapter to my unit shattered and the wire pulled apart. It only dropped four feet! I paid about $1.00 for it. I thought this was a steal but I got what I paid for it seems. Save yourself time. Buying a $20 piece will save you that in the long run!

I've bought two of these so far and both of them worked great for about a month then the wires inside break. I would suggest getting the kind that have the other end too and not bother with this piece of junk.

The product was substandard in that the headphone end was not the standard size. I had to buy another adaptor, which is absurd, and it doesn't fit that snugly either. The end that plugged into the phone fits poorly as well, and it was advertised specifically for my cell phone. This should have been simple and quite frankly I don't use it at all, because the sound goes in and out due to the poor fit. The folks at Radio Shack said it was a waste of money.
With all that being said it only cost 7 dollars including shipping, but what a complete waste.

I could connect the adaptor to both my phone and Plantronics under the ear headset but:
1. phone connector was hard to insert, could not get it deep enough into the slot
2. headset jack went in fine but it was no sound in headset - total silence

as my phone works with a standard headset, supplied with the phone AND my Plantronics headset works as a charm with Radioshack cordless phone I think that adaptor is not working properly.

I bought this product and it broke immediately, within moments of plugging it in to my phone - the plastic fell apart and wires were exposed. I called BargainCell and they sent me another one without requiring me to return the original, which is great, except that I received it today, tried it, and the new one broke as well!!!! When I received the replacement, I tried placing a call with my headset to test it, and the person I called could not hear me. I checked the connection and re-snapped everything snugly in, and it still didn't work, and then I pulled the adaptor out of the phone to find that it too was broken. The metal part that goes into the cellphone is loose and wont stay in place in the plastic housing, and it almost got stuck in my phone. This is ridiculous. I suspect that they sent the replacement no questions asked because this is a common occurrence. Now I am going to order from a different company and try to get my money back from BargainCell. The model of my phone is a Samsung A707.

it didn't actually work, all you heard was a crackling sound... and when I unplugged the wire from my phone, it broke!
