Pros:
-Easily installed software on Windows 7.
-Quickly recognized my card and was able to access e-mail and other functions like I would at work.

Cons:
-Not sure if this is the card reader or something else but rarely it will act like it cant read the card. I just restart my computer and it usually fixes it.
-If that doenst make it work for you follow these steps in internet explorer

Go to Internet Options, Advanced, Scroll down to Security and Enable "Use SSL 3.0" only. Make usre all of the other SSL and TLS setting are unchecked.
It took me a while to figure this out when I first got this reader so I hope that saves you some time.

Works great with Navy-Marine Corps Internet (NMCI) Service. All I had to do was use the Smart Card Driver CD, then it worked just fine. I have Windows 7.

The product works great. Plug it in and it loads the drivers automatically. I use it to access my government e-mail from anywhere. Just download the certificates and you will be ready to go. It reads my CAC every time. I have not had any problems so far. I would recommend this card reader. Makes life just a little bit easier.

I am in the military and bought this CAC reader to access sites from home. BUT prior to buying, I would check out stanleyglobaltech.com for better pricing. All in all the reader works and fairly easy to install. If you are in the military and you want access at home, you NEED one of these and this one is one of the best

First: It doesn't come in the package showed. It showed up with it just bubble wrapped. So any instructions you thought you were going to get from the packaging is out the window. A little scary at first since this is the first one I ever purchased. So, I just plugged it in.

Second: Within seconds my computer recognized it and installed it automatically. I never had to do anything. I'm in the military so my purpose is to access AKO with a CAC. Went to AKO website (using regular username and password) to get the certificates installed on my computer first! If you type in the search bar at AKO with "CAC card reader" you'll get a website to follow, and simple instructions in order to install what you need. *****I didn't have to search for my CAC card reader****** Just install the basic stuff needed. The certificates and the ActivClient software.

Third: Apart from that I left my CAC reader plugged in to my computer during all of these steps. My computer and AKO recognized it, AKO took me so far then crashed. I was like WTF is going on! I went to the "help" side of AKO, used the "fixes". ****Not sure if that even was needed**** Because it still didn't work!! Let me tell you I was getting a little upset. So I unplugged it, shut my web browsers, waited 3.5 seconds plugged the CAC reader in and proceeded to AKO once again. BAM! All I had to do was unplug it from the computer and this time, with all the certificates and ActivClient installed, it finally asked me for my PIN. Problem solved!

Fourth: It works for both IE and Chrome and I have no complaints there! Only complaint like I mentioned before, there were no instructions and it doesn't come in the package shown but it was still in PERFECT condition. OH! The light on mine doesn't really change color to indicate my card is being read. It BARELY changes from a dull red to a kinda reddish pink. Other than that, again....works perfect!

This cac reader is sleek, glossy black and lights up when a smart card is inserted. I downloaded the certificates online and was up and running in minimal time. Highly recommend it. Solid product well constructed.
