This all-in-one memory/CAC reader will save a lot of space in your briefcase, once you get it working. If you're using it on a Windows 7 machine, it will NOT work immediately. Do NOT return it, the fix takes about 45 seconds.
1. Start Device Manager
2. Right-click the "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR" entry (this is what Windows 7 erroneously installs this as)
3. Select "Update Driver Software"
4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
5. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
6. Make sure "Show compatible hardware" box is checked
7. Select "USB Composite Device"
8. Select "Next" and you're done
Now it will work.

Running windows 7, just plug and play. The drivers will automatically be downloaded. Absolutely no problem with this reader, recognizes my CAC like a champ and gets me through my business with no fuss.

This was a waste of money, time, and energy. Don't even bother, I tried the troubleshooting steps provided with absolutely no results and cannot log in to my AKO, which was my sole purpose of purchase. Also, it's considered downloadable software and does not qualify for any type of return.

it a great little all in one card reader i bought this for sim cards,but it also does a bunch of diffrent stuff, i have windows 7 and if you plug it in a few times in and out it will pick up the drivers automatically,the only drivers it didnt pick up was for the smart card,but i found several sites for the drivers dont be discouraged if it doesnt work the first time.

Almost a year now and still going strong. Use it on my laptop when traveling. Reads my CAC, my Iphone chip and my camcorder memory. No complaints. I also use the Stanley Global 111 and 118 in the office.

Recently purchased a Dell XPS 15 with 2 USB 3.0 ports, and 1 USB 2.0. Only the 2.0 USB will recognize the device. Not a big deal as long as I remember what port to plug into. Also, the driver installed correctly so I didn't need to make changes in the Device Manager as other reviews have stated.

WOW and WOW again. this is the best most universal reader i have ever tried. i mean you don't even need to install the software to use it. it works with everything i have from a simm card from my phone to a memory card for my HD video camera to the micro sd card in my phone for extra memory it reads them all flawlessly and you can take from one and put it on another by using a new folder on the desktop. try one if you are tired of changing phones and then swapping your phone numbers and having double entries. no more of that you have to try this product. i will be getting another one for my wife also.

Got it and with in a few days it died, gave it two stars because I don't hate it but having had it only for a few days having the thing die isn't good. I guess you get what you pay for, maybe I got a bad one so give it thought before you buy this.
