Editorial Reviews

For 17 years the Edmund Fitzgerald traveled the Great Lakes as the Queen of the massive iron ore freighters until on November 10, 1975 the 729-foot ore carrier disappeared with its entire crew in one of Lake Superior's worst storms ever. Join the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society, National Geographic Society, Canadian Navy and Sony Corporation as they descend to the wreck site, 535 feet beneath the icy waters of Lake Superior. On July 4, 1995, honoring a request by the families of those lost aboard the Fitzgerald, the Great Lakes Historical Society led the expedition to recover the Fitzgerald's bell. Follow that journey.
