Pretty good fitting headphones for running/lifting.,

If you are unsure which headphones to pick for workouts try these. I have tried many and these are the best fit I have found; most likely because they are able to adjust to your ears with the different hinges. They do not wiggle out of your ears while running and you have to literally knock/pull them in order to take them out of your ears. Bottom line, I recommend these because they fit well and have a good sound quality.

I bought some Koss headphones for $30+ at Walmart for working out, and although they came with 3 sets of different size inserts, none fit well and the sound lacked any bass. They also fell out when moving or sweaty at all. These Nike headphones sound great, and the over-ear clips are very well designed. The rubber pouch is a neat design too, keeping the cord tangle-free.
edit: I got these for under $20 on Amazon. I was going to get another pair since I gave mine to my GF, but now they are $47???

Great sound, too big for my ears, though.,

I really liked these headphone the first time I used them, until I took them out. The buds are a bit too big and press on one of the folds of the ear. And, because they do stay in place so well, continue to press wrong the whole time. I've tried adjusting them a million ways, they just don't fit. Other than the fit, they are wonderful. The sound is the best I've had in any headphone. I ended up giving them to my husband and he loves them.

Great fit and sound, horrible durability,

I am on my third pair of Nike headphones (previous 2 pairs replaced by Nike due to poor durability). I am 35 and careful with my belongings, I use these for running with my ipod, and they haven't lasted past 60 days. I am giving up--the free headphones that come packaged with batteries have lasted longer than these (although the sound quality is pretty poor with those, but at least they work). The other reviews are pretty positive, I suppose I could have just been unlucky with defective pairs, but I wouldn't recommend them given the problems I have had with typical athletic use...they have died on me way too fast, while cheap headphones have lasted me over a year each with the exact same type of use.

The only ones that work for me...,

I've tried many different sytles of earbuds/headphones, but can not find ones that stay in play while running. I'm envious when I see people with the standard issue earbuds running on the treadmill next to me. I probably have hundreds of dollars wrapped up in these darn things. I will say I run hard, sweat alot, and have small ears. The only downfall is because of how often I use them I usually only get a few months out of each pair. For me, it's worth it. Please dont stop making them.

Poor Design, Disappointing Quality for Major Name brands.,

I read the reviews on several headphones and was moderately convinced on their value, but what sold me on this pair was the data sheet showing the dynamic range of the audio produced by these little speakers. Indeed, the sound is incredible...
...if you stay perfectly still! There are at least TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS with these headphones that make them UNUSABLE, especially in a scenario's implied by the name "Sport". First off, the ear hooks are hinged with metal screws that are not consistently tightened. The right side is tight and stays hooked to my ear no problem, even with sunglasses on. The left side however is loose and because they chose a star-head "Torx" driver screw, I am unable to tighten this screw without a special tool, which I happened to have. Unfortunately I cannot make it any tighter without Loc-tite, but should a customer really need to do this for such an expensive pair? Secondly, and the real deal breaker is the static produced by the 3.5mm TRS stereo headphone plug. I am not certain if it's a poor solder connection inside the wire or if the TRS plug itself is not quite to spec, but whenever the cable gets moved at the plug end, (i.e. jogging) I hear static! At least in the one ear that still had the earbud in it. Given the two major name brands associated with these earbuds: Phillips & Nike, I am incredibly disappointed in their quality and performance. I will attempt to get a refund for my purchase (even though I destroyed the annoying carton in came with) and I strongly suggest to the reader to find another brand.

I purchased the Nike SHJ080 Sport Skylon Earhook Headphones for my iPod because the ear buds I had (from Sony), while producing good sound quality, would not stay comfortably in my ear, and would frequently come loose or pop out even when I was walking around.
The Nike's adjust easily, fit comfortably, and the quality of the sound is good. The piece that fits over and around your ears to keep the speakers in place swivels and adjusts for a comfortable fit, and I don't really notice or feel them once they're on. I now use them all the time whether or not I'm working out. These headphones come with an easy to use rubber storage case that holds both the headphones and the cord. I also like the fact that the main part of the cord is substantial enough that it doesn't become annoyingly tangled. The only downside, for me, is that the sound tends to favor the high end so that some music has a "too sharp" quality. But I don't want to overemphasize that. Mostly, it's OK. Overall, a good design and a good value.

My wife and i laughed at the small lenght of cord for this from my ears to my chest. The top of my chest not the bottom. They were real cheap with cord lenght for this product dispite being a NIke product. I was disappointed at the 360 degree swivel on the headphones. Thos things move so much they will never stay in place when I run. Don't buy and click on another pair quickly...ARE YOU STILL HERE? Run don't walk

If you're planning to purchase these for intense, sweat-producing workouts, save your money. Beside the fact that the hinge gets sloppy after the first couple weeks of use (leading to a fall-out), the poor design of the foam cover and sound ducts allow the buds to get locked up by sweat. (If you've ever had earbuds mute on you mid-workout, then you know what I'm referring to.)
These earphones have good sound quality, but if you're planning to use them for anything other than in-flight entertainment save your coin--don't be fooled by the Nike swoosh.

(the were stolen from me, but here;'s the review from the day i got to try them)
The earphones were very sturdy, good quality, the over the ear hook is very easy to move sideways, adapts easily, they are not light weight though and sometimes the rubber in the earphone gets tangle up in your hair (if you are a girl). The sound was great! too. From 1 to 10 i would say 9. |
