I use this keyboard to navigate my Windows 7 HTPC TV. I got this touchpad keyboard so that I don't have to reach for a mouse that's laying on the table.

Review:

- RF range is about 25 feet and very responsive. No delays on TV when typing.
- Keys are 95% of normal keys and are kind of cramped. Not meant to type a long novel. Sometimes I have to press hard on the keys to register. Again, this keyboard is for casual use only. Like typing in web addresses.
- Touchpad is OK. You can double tap, use two fingers to scroll up and down. My biggest complaint is that when typing, the touchpad would accidentally highlight something and delete. There's no way to disable the toughpad when typing.

Very lightweight, keys are small, cramped keys. Good for placing on lap and watching tv.

Though it is nice to have a mouse pad it is not adjustable. The preset functions do not relate to any laptop I have owned and two finger scrolling is a bit of a pain. It seems overly sensitive to tapping and when I fast drag it has a tendency to think I am tapping and interprits it as a left click.

I have owned two other RF keyboards, the Adesso trackball and BTI joystick and the Adesso is still my fav. The joystick type has become tempermental as joysticks can and I am looking for a replacement.

It's small size makes it nice from a hidden storage aspect in comparison to my others and makes it easy to handle and control.
But the keys are small and some are reduced in size which is a little annoying at first. In testing the typing functions I got sticky key syndrome and letters started streaming if my keystroke lingered in the least. Not something that you would use long term to type with...

As a multimedia controller it is lacking in comparison to my others. Four of the special keys are for web (home, mail, search, favs) and four are for mediacenter (volume up,down,stop,play/pause no fast forward or reverse).

Lastly it has a somewhat cheep plastic feel and the pad can be rather tempermental at times.

I love this keyboard so much that I bought two of them. Having the touchpad avoids having a flat surface for your mouse when viewing your PC on TV. I've tried all other HTPC keyboards, even logitech's expensive dinovo, and this one is much much better. The range is also awesome. It picks up from further away then some bluetooth wireless devices that I have used in the past. I would highly recommend this keyboard. No complaints at all.

I have been using this SIIG wireless keyboard for about a year and a half, but I just discovered it can work with Android tablets and Chromebook laptops in addition to the intended Windows use. I think that makes the SIIG worth a review, especially when I see the negative reviews on Amazon.

Pros:
–Works with Windows XP, 7, and 8, Android, and Chromebook
–Wireless connection works fine(uses a USB dongle on a computer)
–Lightweight
–Compact size, comparable to a 14-inch laptop
–Supports two finger scrolls on touchpad
–Right and left buttons below the touchpad
–Several special keys along top which may be handy for some users(transport controls, mail, search, volume)
–Long battery life

Cons:
–Cannot disarm the touchpad on the device, which sometimes causes typing errors(can disarm in Windows by settings on Control Panel)
–Some keys(e.g., backspace, delete, shift) are too small and/or strangely placed to be as useful as desired

Recommended Use:
Especially handy in pctv applications

Notes on Chromebook use:
I plugged the dongle into a Chromebook(Acer c720), and had instant success. The Windows key on the SIIG operates the same as the search key on the Chromebook keyboard. Some of the F keys work with the Chromebook to control volume and brightness. The page up and down keys operate like they do in Windows–no special keyboard presses needed. Most of the special keys across the top of the SIIG don’t do anything. You may find the SIIG is easier to use with Chromebook than its own keyboard.

I also used the SIIG with a Sony S Android tablet, and it worked well.

This device works so well I bought a 2nd one for a different room/setup. They work independently of each other with no interference. A great device!

This model is an good for a living room entertainment center. It is very reliable and has not had any issues, the battery lasts a long time. Some keys are in weird spots due to the configuration, I had to hunt for the delete button. It gives you the convenience of a large keyboard and a wrist rest when using the track pad. It may be larger than some people want to have hanging around their living room.

Mouseless setups are great . This one is not . I've had the btc 9019urf for years ,when its stopped working I ordered another that worked for years . Last year the 9019 thumbmouse started gliding =/ so I ordered this SIIG to try the mousepad thing. Its did not connect or sync ,they sent another that did . Now this 1 has a weird "mm" button .Either it doesn't give an M at all or it gives 2 or mmmmm . this is when i'm sitting within 8 feet from the unobstructed reciever ! If i'm sitting 10 feet and i hit the volume button it goes All the Way UP so its Blasting ! This assures my neighbours to bang on their wall or ceiling or blow my ears if wearing headphones. Yes , this is with full batteries .

Also the touchpad is not intuitive .Its either too sensitive or not enough . It click when I just want to move, it drags and drops at the wrong times ! Terrible . The 1 good thing is the trackpad doesn't ghost glide .
