I have used my dress form for 4 pieces of clothing now. It works really well. It really takes the guess work out of sewing if you aren't into using patterns all the time (it works really well for pattern use too)!

My only complaint is that although the size is adjustable, the shape is not. Not all women are hourglasses or curvy in all the same areas and I think that this would better accommodate all shapes if the actual waistline was adjustable.

Overall, I am really glad I bought this, as I am an avid clothing maker.

My husband bought me this gift for my birthday recently. It was an excellent gift. I've begun my wonderful creations since I opened the box. The only thing that puzzled me before I opened the box was that althought it was a medium, the box claimed it was for sizes 16 1/2 to 22. Well i'm an 8. However, the box seemed to be too small to fit this dress form if it was indeed created to fit sizes 16 1/2 to 22. Lucky me, my mother pointed out that this was talking about shoulder width not the dress size. I didnt believe her at first but I secretly measured one shoulder to another and sure enough...mama was right. For a second there I thought my husband was crazy to think I was a size 16 or higher. Any whoo, i love this thing because I hate to measure things. I'd rather measure once, set the form and eye ball it the rest of the way. Crazy I know...but this was definately a good gift for me. I highly recommend this Item

I was a bit frustrated to find after I ordered this that a dress form size medium is *nowhere close* to a women's size medium. When I ordered the product, the size was not clearly stated in the product description. I guess they have updated it, now saying that the Medium dress form is for a women's size 16 - 22.

I did miss the inch measurements, so the order is partly my bad. But be sure to dig through the fine print to ensure you are ordering the proper size. Wish it had been front and center so that I didn't have to order / return / reorder again.

I got this dress form at a great price with free shiping. Thanks to the reviews of others I already knew what to expect but was surprised at how much faster my sewing is going now that I am using one. Let me say that I know my body type is not what is typical. I have never had the normal waist to hip proportions. Even when I am thin my waist is almost the same measurement as my hips I just don't have curves like that. If I want jeans to fit I have to wear men's. With that being said and taking the advice of reviewers I have marked my dress form so that my clothes will fit in a flattering feminine manner some thing I couldn't seem to accomplish quite right without the dress form. All of the dress forms are shaped this way even the adjustable ones. This one just so happens to be budget friendly and easy to store when not in use. The only thing I would change is that the plastic part that holds the height you set it at could be better built. Just a bit of pressure will make the pole slip into its sheath causing the thing to go immediately from my 5'5" to 3ft tall.

I don't make that many clothes, but compared to the real dress forms that cost a few hundred dollars, this is junk! First out of the box it seems pretty cool, but after a while the gears start to become difficult to turn and pieces will stick. The cover is also really hard to pin into, you have to pin it like you're piecing fabric together, but when you're using a dressform, it's easier to just stick a pin in like a push pin! Also it is not realistic. If you measure your body and adjust, it is not a good clone to you. The boobs especially are problematic, the torso slopes into them too much instead of having it be more realistic. This is a problem if you like to make very structured and fitted clothes. And the gaps are extremely annoying when working with it. If you are serious about sewing clothes for yourself, look into other alternatives because this just doesn't cut it.

I have had this form for two months and have made several dresses for my daughter in college. It is so nice to fit the dresses without her here and still fit great. I love the length adjustment and have created a very close fit for her. The stand is cheap but you get what you pay for. I plan on being careful and hope it hold up. I would recommend this for the price.

For the price - this is an excellent dressform. It's lightweight and easy to move as needed. Adjustments were simple to do. I do mostly knitted and crochet garments, and this works perfectly for me. I can shape/block the knitted items very easily. I've named her Tillie!

I use a dress form to make costuming for Conventions, Faires and Stage productions. In the middle of my latest project my old (cheap) dress form broke so I was in a bit of a scramble. I chose this dress form based upon the price and the brand name. The reviews were mixed but I needed something fast, light and portable.

The item arrived super fast and took about 10 minutes to set up. The measurements are metric system but there was a conversion table in the instruction booklet. The instruction booklet was very difficult to work with. It's not laid out very well but in very little time I was able to figure it out.

For the price this is a very good form. It's light and doesn't take up much space and since I often travel with mine it's very easy to transport. It's not professional quality but for your average hobbyist it's a great purchase!

I bought this for my wife, who puts countless hours into dressmaking. First impression: this form was very lightweight, and I didn't expect it to last very long under the use she will be putting it through. Most notable, the base is the same as an artificial Christmas tree, and the center post doesn't lock into the form at all. This makes it difficult to move the form around the room with a dress mounted. Lift up just a little, and it's now an awkward dance to get back onto the post. Another point of contention with the base is the amount of torque it takes to tighten the compression nut to hold the center post in height adjustment. It takes everything she has to tighten the nut.
I resolved these issues by buying a plumbing spanner for the nut, and I'm going to drill and pin the post. After those issues are resolved, the form is very sufficient for her use. The base is actually acceptable to her, as evidenced in her opinion by the fact that our artificial tree has survived many years of use around growing boys.
The adjustments include: Neck, bust, waist, hip, and height. The range of adjustment is good, but it takes reading the specifications to choose the right form for its dress size range.
Construction is lightweight plastic covered with cloth, but it is sturdy enough for non-commercial use.
I gave four stars because the form is good, and has value in line with it's price, but issues that could be resolved inexpensively in manufacturing keep it from the top rating.

I have always wanted a dress form to help with the fitting of the dresses and other items I sew. I could not believe the price of this and it was delivered quickly and in great shape. I put it together and decided to try hanging one of my very form fitting dresses on it, just to check if I needed to adjust any of the many areas that it allows adjustments. Too my amazement, it fit perfectly!!! I am so thrilled and want to sew many more outfits now. Thank you Singer.
