Super Safety Siphon works perfectly, a great tool for siphoning fuels,
By
This review is from: SIPHON HOSE -- 6 FOOT not for food use
Super Siphon is a nice simple safety tool that works perfectly every time I've used it. No more sucking fumes or harmful stuff into your mouth and lungs. After scratching my head for a little I read the instructions and it's pretty simple to make it work. It takes 3 to 5 shakes up and down to get it started (from the tank you are siphoning from), then drop the other end of the siphon hose into the receiving tank, then gravity takes over to transfer fuel or water or whatever from one tank to another. To stop siphoning, just lift the hose out of the liquid and it stops. It couldn't be much easier. I bought three, one for fresh water on my boat, one for my aquarium, and one for fuel so I don't have to worry about cleaning the hose or contaminating water with fuel. One important note: Rules of gravity still apply of course - you cannot siphon "UP" - the tank you siphon TO must be LOWER than the tank you siphon FROM. Overall, a great product at a fair price, and a must-have if you have a boat or rv.

Super Siphon Works Great!,

I figured when I bought this I had a 50/50 chance of it working based on some information I read at a bulletin board. Wrong! This product works as advertised. I have used it to drain gas from my boat and transfer it to other containers, transfer gas from containers to my truck and car (haven't tried to use it to take gas out of my truck), and to drain trapped water off my boat cover. As long as you can get the discharge end of the tube below the liquid you are trying to drain it works very well.

SIPHON HOSE -- 6 FOOT -- NOT WHAT YOU THINK,

I ordered this item at Amazon, and at that time it was completely different device. It had a clear tube with a brass device at one end. I want to make it clear to people thinking about purchasing it that many of the reviews and ratings here probably refer to that device and not the current item with a rubber bulb and two tubes. I hope this is a mistake, because otherwise it is guaranteed to mislead people. So please beware!

I bought this siphon in order to fill my boat up using 5 gallon containers. The siphon works like a charm! I don't have to wrestle with the container any more or worry about spilling any gas in the lake. It's a cheap and easy way to fill up the boat.

Does The Job!,

First of all, I didn't buy my Super Siphon through Amazon. That being said, it is a GREAT tool for transferring gasoline from one container to another.
Last year, I used it to move gas from 5 gal jerry cans to a filtered gasoline container during a 10 day Hurricane Ike-related power outage. The super siphon is very easy to use...stick it in the supply container, move the end up & down to prime the tubing, and watch the gas zoom through the tubing. Lift the "supply" end of the Super Siphon from the fuel, and it stops pumping. Very simple...very handy...very useful.

Bad tube to bulb seal,

The siphon comes in 3 parts, the bulb and two tubes. After assembly, it was hard to start the siphon, due to air leaks around the bulb. Once going, it leaked all over the place and then stopped working a minute later. Definitely not a good quality siphon.

What Could be More Simple,

I had never seen these before this week. We used a couple of them to fuel jet skis at the lake. this is always a messy job because the ski filler port is inside the front storage compartment, the fuel can tubes are short and the ski is always moving. We set the can on the dock, put the open end of the tube in the fuel tank and gave the other end a few shakes after it was inserted into the fuel. Ran 5 gallons of fuel in minutes.

this is the worst item I have ever purchased in line. air leaks around both sides of the bulb and the plastic hose is so small in gage that it will close at slighest bending.

FYI, This listing is confusing. It is not for the Supersiphon which is blue with brass end and glass check valve. The Super siphon without black pump bulb can be found on amazon. Here is a link to the REAL supersiphon: [...]
