Sirius SCC1 Tuner is the way to go!,

After years of using a portable universal tuner through either the FM tuner or aux. jack on my stereo, I finally decided it was time to upgrade my stereo head unit so I could integrate all my "attachments". I've been using the Sirius SCC1 with my Alpine CDA-9886 for about 5 months now, and I've been extremely pleased with it. The Sirius SCC1 works GREAT with the head unit and causes no issues with the other peripherals attached to it (I've also got the bluetooth module (KCA 200BT) and iPod cable). The sound quality is excellent--far better than it was using the portable unit through the auxillary input. One of the features I appreciated most about my portable unit was the ability to mark favorite songs or bands and be notified when they're being broadcast on any channel. This unit maintains that ability, although I do miss the option of having the notification beep through the speakers; instead the notification is visual on the face of the head unit, so if you're not looking at the head unit, you can easily miss it. (I haven't read through all the instructions though, so this isn't to say that the beep option doesn't exist).
Don't forget that with this unit, you will need the Sirius adaptor that is specific to your head unit. This is the TUNER itself, NOT the adaptor. YOU MUST HAVE BOTH in order for it to work (mine is paired with the KCA-SC100). All in all I've found the SCC1 to be a great value. Installation was SUPER easy for me (I installed it myself in about 20 minutes), the sound quality is great, and the convenience and cleanness of keeping everything integrated through the head unit makes it a great product.

It is, what it is...,

Basically this product is what it is. It does what says it does, of course you still need to purchase your adapter for your particular stereo brand, but other than that, it works. The only gripe that I had with the product was that the antenna was poor. From the start it had an issue acquiring a signal. It would constantly cut-off, and that was SO annoying when you are trying to listen to a broadcast. Luckily I had the old antenna from my portable unit and I used it instead. It was night and day, and I can now get great signal always. The antenna that works great with this device is the Sirius Radio Dot Micro Car Antenna.

I bought one of these SIRIUS tuner modules to enable me to receive satellite radio through my new in-dash unit. It works perfectly. The tuner is so sensitive that I can listen to SIRIUS with the car parked inside my garage. NOTE: an additional interface module is also required to connect this tuner to your in-dash unit. The specific interface module you need will depend on the brand and model of your head unit. Be sure you have both before beginning your installation.

The first one I received and installed would cut in and out
all the time. After trying to adjust the antenna and talking to Sirius I came to the conusion it was a faulty unit. So I returned it to Amazon and got a replacement. The second receiver works fine but it was a lot of extra work switching the units and I even had to pay a $15 activation fee with Sirius to activate the second unit. But it does work fine now

Purchased this unit along with the Sirius Sony SNYSC1 interface box. Connection is easy, but the unit lacks any indicators, so when after tearing the dash apart and connecting to the brand new Sony Sat-ready head unit and not receiving anything, it's hard to guess what the problem is. As an engineer, I followed a logical trouble-shooting path that pointed to a faulty power filter in the interface unit and hoped that would be it. I tried to get help from Sirius, but their idea for help is "take it to an installer", which I guess I understand since levels of qualifications for the DIY crowd are likely all over the map. The main concern is that there were three components - the Sony head unit, the SCC1 and the SNYSC1 and there's just no way to tell what's goint on with the Sirius parts - no indicator LEDs or anything at all indicating functionality. When the replacement interface box came, the unit powered up and was recognized by the head unit immediately and works as expected. Otherwise, installation is a breeze.

I installed this in my wife's 2009 Toyota Corolla. Couldn't be easier. All the wires are in the trunk to install this unit in the Corolla. I had to buy Directed Electronics TOYSC1 Toyota/Lexus/Scion SiriusConnect Tuner Interface to connect to this unit. One note about the Corolla "Don't bother spending the $60.00 for the antenna connection wire to use with the antenna already on the car. You can just cut the antenna wires on the antenna that comes with the TOYSC1 (throw out the rest) and just cut off the connector in the trunk and splice the wires together. Anybody that can solder a wire can splice these wires together. One suggestion. Instead of trying to solder together the wires that are on the outside of the core wire (shielding or ground wire) just solder a jumper wire from one end of the shielding to the other wires shielding , this is much easier. Hope this help you save $60.00."

Not too bad,
Great product fairly easy to install as long as you buy the other connector piece needed and its cool to have satellite radio through the double din as opposed to external displays. Only gripe is that I have signal problems every so often where it says acquiring signal especially around buildings in the city, however part of this problem may be attributable to the windshield tint.

Research well, I had to purchase an additional part from Radio Shack $54.95 to make this work with my Kenwood receiver. Sirius and XM have merged, however if you own radios for both of them you do not get a multiple radio discount.

I needed this part in order to receive Sirius directly on my new car stereo without any other external tuner and this tuner did the trick. Now everything Sirius shows up right on the screen. The price was great too.
