1.0 out of 5 stars Say it with me...HORRIBLE!, August 19, 2011

Ok, this book was so horribly written it is beyond any comprehension as to how it could've gotten published in the first place. I don't usually speed read through my books, no matter how slow or how boring. This book I could not WAIT for it to end. But the ending was even worse for having read the whole book. The story is, eh, ok. The characters could've been so wonderful had the author put a just a wee bit more thought into it. The narration was so out of place it's unreal. I just can't picture a Duke of the realm telling a fellow peer, "yo" for any reason unless he's a time traveller with no sense of speech. I don't understand how in the previous two books Boz's sixth sense only alerted him to certain dangers or whatnot, however in this book it talks to him. Provides illustrations, dreams and TALKS to him. What?! How..in the loving dawn can you write an ENTIRE book on someone who denies himself and his love all the way up until the very last half chapter??? Explain this to me...in the entire book he fights the love (typical so nothing new there) but the author gives us a whopping 5 pages if that of him truly giving himself to his love. It's ridiculous and beyond reality even in the realm of fantasy.

I'm all about the epilogue in my books. I love to read how the characters are fairing even if it's only a few months later..with this book there is no epilogue...I mean there's not even an ENDING!! "they're covered in fairy dust"..what? This book is ridiculous and while I generally live and let live about wasting money on books that were lackluster..I seriously want to recommend and beg for my money back for books 2 and 3. I could've spent it on books that might've at least gotten some inspiration from me. The first was free so it was worth the money...HA! These two shouldn't just be free..they should pay someone just for reading them and making it to the end.

2.0 out of 5 stars painful to read, February 24, 2011

An interesting premise which sounded great in the summary. There were well defined characters and likeable protagonists(in the beginning). About 30 pages into the novel everyone and everything went crazy. The male protagonist turned into an obsessive stalker. The female protagonist turned from a virginal sweet girl into a dominatrix. All the other characters stayed basically the same as they were which was absurd considering what was going on around them. Certainly, there was some anger but everyone stayed as guests in the same house. As an added touch, there were fairies here and there whose presence rarely made sense. If this had been a short story it would have been less painful but the sustained angst was too much. If I were the author I would reuse all of these characters as first developed, named changed, in another novel but leave the torment and torture behind.
