The picture is a little less bright than some other LCDs out there, but I just bought it for $440 when it's all over the place for $500 + (not even inc tax or shipping). So I am very happy with the purchase.

The TV also allows you to save each channel by station ID or by signal #. Interesting... Also, it's light enough to move around from room to room or hang on a full motion swivel arm.

Good buy as long as you're not a super techno geek who expects absolute perfection.

Like a lot of people I've been reading about, I started having problems with my Westinghouse LCD television only a few months after purchasing it. Unfortunately, my problems are sporadic and, not noticing them when viewing cable television, I assumed that this problem was caused by the other input source I used on it (a video game console). I had that unit serviced twice, and by the time I realized that the problem was with the television and not the input source, the unit was out of warranty by about 3 months. Despite having documentation to show that my problems began only a few months after buying their product, their customer disservice department basically told me I was up poop creek. I guess it was crazy of me to expect a $600 television to work properly for a whole year and a half. Thanks for nothing, Westinghouse! Next time, I'll go with Toshiba or Samsung, and I would encourage anyone else to do the same.

Pros
Lots of inputs, is still semi-functional a whole 15 months after purchase.

Cons
Discolored static on areas of uniform color (esp. white and red), framerate drops (bad for gaming), customer service is unresponsive and will allegedly make you pay out of your own pocket for any service they grudgingly provide, other customers have reported sets going dead entirely.

I got one of these tv's almost exactly a year ago. It died (basically turned itself into a radio) about two weeks ago. I left the room for a few minutes, came back and the screen was black, but I could still hear audio coming from it.

Apparently the backlight died. Westinghouse seems to only have two places in the country where you can send your tv to be repaired, and from what I've read about other owners of this tv, the repair centers cant really be called "repair" centers.

Big waste of money, dont buy this tv.

I purchased one of these in Sept. 2008. It was a floor model, but the picture looked great to me, comparable to more expensive sets, and for $380 I took a chance, also purchasing an extended warranty to protect myself. Well, about a month ago the set started smelling like it was on fire. After a few days, the smell went away, and so did the picture, which only comes on for about 3 seconds. The company first said I wasn't covered, because the set was actually made in Feb. 2008.,not when I bought it, which is ridiculous. When I explained I purchased an extended warranty, they told me that it was not through them, but a company called Warranty Corporation of America, or something like that. I told them I had purchase it on THEIR website, with no knowledge I was buying someone else's guarantee. After much arguing, and threatening legal action, they have offered to replace the set if I mail it (at their expense) back to TEXAS, about 2,000 miles from here! I also have to find my own box, and my wife had to print out the mailing label at her job, as I don't have a printer.That is where it stands now. I don't know if I trust that they will do anything for me once they get the set, since every contact I've had with their service department has been screwed up. I'm debating whether to get it fixed locally, or just give in and go buy a new tv, some other brand of course. Contrary to other people, my set had a great picture for the time it worked. However, this has been such a hassle trying to get service from them that I've totally gone off the set, and wouldn't trust it to stay on for long periods, as it may actually catch fire some day....Guess I was a sucker..

We bought a Westinghouse flat screen TV about two years ago. It was about 2/3 of the price of the other models. We figured the picture quality might not be as good, but we're not serious TV watchers, so the price break was huge for us. Now we're watching and the thing essentially turns itself off and won't turn on again for several minutes. Shell out a few more bucks and get a TV from a quality manufacturer. We're wishing we had.

Really excellent bargain!!! Nice picture, easy to operate, nice looking unit. Only good things to say about it. In fact, we bought a second one for my Mom!!!
