this brand of case is the one all others should be measured by. We picked this brand and size to not only be used as a golf club case but a "fencing" travel case too. Will work great to travel with fencing equipment as well as golf.

Just ordered 4814W Deluxe case. It is different than photo here or on SKB web site (does not have the enlarged lower half). I have a stand bag, so I wanted a case like the SKB 2SKB-4812WS but wanted the TSA heavy locks on the deluxe model, so I ordered the 4814. The case delivered looks like the 4812 (but isn't because it has the TSA locks). So I got exactly what I was really wanting, but not what I ordered. If you are ordering this case because you have a cart bag, it will not fit in this narrower case. The box was labeled 2SKB-4814W, but I really don't know what I got because it is a hybrid of the 4812 and the 4814.

2-weeks later -- Travel Update: After one trip involving several airports, the case is in great shape. When packing though, two points: (1) I have the popular Callaway tilt-bottom stand bag, and I could only squeeze one golf shoe into the case. Next time I travel, I'll have to use a smaller carry bag. (2) I have the Callaway ft-i driver, with one inch extension. To fit in the case, I had to remove the driver cover and lay the club alongside the golf bag for it to fit lengthwise. In summary, if you order the case and don't get the enlarged bottom half (as shown in the picture), you're going to have trouble fitting a regular stand bag in the case, and you'll have to pack your shoes with your clothes.

This is an excellent travel case for taking your cart bag with you on a trip. The bag is enormous, but this means it is big enough to carry the cart bag intact, and when you get to your destination, you can pull your cart bag out and away you go. Be careful over loading it- it's possible you could go over airline guideline weights if fully loaded with shoes etc. But it has a very sturdy design, and latches, and the TSA security locks give you peace of mind.
If had been a little lighter (and a little cheaper), it might have got a 5 star rating.

This is the best travel case for golf clubs. It is like a super hard sided Samsonite suitcase for golf clubs with a far more robust TSA lock than you will see on your typical Samsonite suitcase. The only down side is that because it is solid and rigid, it takes up a lot of space when it is empty.

So you have a choice. Travel with a cloth golf bag that you can fold up when it is empty and allow your clubs to be abused. Or travel with one of these babies knowing that your clubs are safe and sound and pay the bell man to hold the empty bag in storage. If you think this is a choice, you don't love your clubs . . . or you didn't pay for them.

Just received this case, and I have to admit that I was a little nervous about it being the right size, given some of the other reviews. My cart bag and all 14 clubs -- including two 48-inch drivers -- fit without a problem, and I even had room to include my shoes. Looks like the airlines won't be breaking any more of my clubs!

Traveled with the case the first time this week. There is not much room left for any extra's once you put a standard size bag in the case. The club head area is surrounded with foam, but a towel wrapped around the club heads will prevent rattles and clicks. There is no name tag or name tag area on the bag, you need to supply your own.

The TSA lock is a bit still and I felt I had to use it to prevent the latch from popping open. The other 2 non-locking latches work fine though. No problem with the locks at the air port. Overall the case is what I was looking for. It's got a lifetime warranty on parts too, but I hope not to have to use it.

Appears to be an excellent product. Recently took golf trip with my son. He used this case and I used a new Datrek "Blue Whale" hard case. No comparsion, to our destination the "Blue Whales" locks came open, the SKB was secure. On the way home, the SKB was terrific, the "Blue Whale" sunk, with a lock totally breaking. I think I'll harpoon the "Blue Whale" and definitely buy another SKB!

Just returned from my first trip with the travel case and it performed perfectly. Very durable - it was the only piece of luggage not broken - my suitcase lost a handle and baby stroller was bent and damaged. Easy to transport to and from airport although it is large and may not fit in a small trunk. Was able to lock for my comfort, yet security was still able to inspect with their TSA key.

I love this case! I'll first say, that if you have a large, or over-sized bag, this probably won't work for you, but I have my bag, full set of clubs, and my shoes/accessories, and it all fits great! It also has strong hinges and latches, with a TSA approved lock, which is great. The wheels and handles are also very strong.

This travel case met all my expectations. Wanted something durable, with a TSA approved lock, easy to carry, not too bulky. The size is perfect for clubs and walking bag. Wheels and handle make it very easy to carry. Great value.
