What else can I say?

If you are familiar with SKB case products, you already know what I'm talking about. If not, let me say that they are tough to beat for protection and value.

Made of military-grade ultra-high molecular polyethylene (same stuff they make helicopter blades with, etc.), these racks are designed not only to protect, but also to look good doing it! SKB pays attention to every detail including the "nut/clips" that are movable/removable in case a thread goes bad or if you need to change your configuration. And the lids lock on tight to keep everything safe and dry.

These shallow racks are perfect to keep your outboard gear safe, clean and portable in case you have a session outside your studio (or if a buddy needs to borrow it). You can't go wrong with this rack!

Not what I expected
The finish is lousy, has many details of preparation, I think is very costly for the product is. The size, weight and hardness is correct.

The finish and fit of these "roto-molded" cases is a bit rough, with lots of minor cosmetic imperfections. For example, the front and rear lids don't mate and seal as nicely as you might want for best moisture and dust protection, but this is the most basic rackmount case you can get; cases like this are generally made to take a beating on the outside (so your rack gear doesn't), and they always end up looking pretty ugly anyway. More importantly, it's a good design that's easily portable and stackable, and SKG warrants the case against any kind of breakage, for life. That's MY kind of warranty. Mine also came with all the hardware needed to mount three "one-unit" rack effects. I honestly think these things are a bit overpriced, but all in all, it's a solid value. Buy with confidence.

I own about 8 of the SKB X racks in the various sizes (2, 3, and 4 spaces). Overall, I'm quite happy with them. My only 2 minor complaints are:
1. I wish the feet were a little taller. I stack these racks and the feet are so shallow that they don't lock into the recesses of the rack underneath very well.
2. There is quite a bit of variation in the tolerances for the backs. Some backs fit snugly and the latches turn easily. Others are extremely tight or very loose.
