5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case for my Z7, August 10, 2011

This case is really nice. My Mathews Z7 fits perfectly inside with a 6" Axion stabilizer screwed on. It also stows a dozen arrows very securely. The foam on the inside really gives a lot of support to the bow and doesn't allow any room for the equipment to shift while traveling. Definitely worth it!

ive been looking for a case that i can use to fly all around the world with. i wasnt afraid to drop some extra change on a brand that alot of people trust, therefore this was the case for me. it arrived on the estimated date and the box was in great condition. the case is extremely rugged and im definately not afraid to put this case theough the duribility test. this is a very wise investment for anyone who owns a bow.

4.0 out of 5 stars this is a serious case, June 13, 2011

This is a heavy case that will provide a lot of protection for your bow, arrows, and some accessories. The inside is lined with a velcro-type loop material that allows the four included hook-backed arrow holders to be mounted. Each pair of arrow holders holds six arrows so you can mount two in the bottom under the bow string (more on this later) and two in the lid above the bow.

There are no velcro straps or other tie-downs for the bow so it is held in place by the foam padding that sandwiches the limbs when the case is closed. I have found more than once that the bow can slip/slide and that the foam is not a perfect lock-down material so I will be investigating how I can use some velcro one-wrap to better secure my bow.

I would highly recommend that you either use a towell, a soft case, or some other string/cam protection (such as a Primos bow sling). With the lack of total security provided by the foam, I am not very happy with an unprotected bow string on a bow that's flip/flopping around in the case with a dozen arrows (even though with field points). I have already ordered a Primos bow sling to keep the string, cables, and cams protected during transport and (as stated) will be finding a way to use some velcro to keep the bow more secure while transporting.

The case itself is very well made and quite heavy even when empty. If you are used to carrying around a thin-walled Plano then you are in for a surprise. This is a very solid case, very well made, but with some minor flaws internally. I should note that if you buy this case, upon receipt you should leave it open for a couple of days to allow the odor from the foam glue to dissipate.

I am not sure that I would buy this case again, to be honest. I bought this thinking that I want one good case that I could travel (fly) with if ever necessary and that buying a daily-use Plano plus this SKB would be a waste of money. Now that I own the SKB, dealing with it's weight and bulk on a daily basis can be a chore. I may end up buying a Plano anyway for daily use.
