I stumbled upon the Skora Phase about a year ago and have to say they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever work.

Just enough pad to get a bit of cushioning, but true to minimalist shoe.

They also provide great ground feel.

This will hopefully be the last type of running shoes that I will ever have to try because I will buy them as long as I can get them.

These shoes are amazing! The very first time I put them on they felt like they totally formed to my feet. I've done everything in them, ran, lifted, jumped and even got them wet. I can't recommend Skora and the Phase X enough. Not only do they feel great but they look so cool. They aren't bulky and look sleek. I know a few other people that have other styles of Skora shoes and love them!

    Highly recommend.

I've been running in Skora's for over a year now and I must say they are best shoes I have ever worn. Not only for running, but for walking too. The heel-to-toe zero drop allows for the foot strike to land evenly when running. With this even drop you don't get the braking action you get when wearing traditional running shoes. By not having this braking action you have a greater change of not be injured.

Skora promotes the physiology of run real and they follow that mantra with how they run their company and how they treat their customers. Every interaction I've had with them has been positive and their people first attitude really comes through.

This shoe does everything from speed work to high mileage runs to cross training. I will wear it for every workout.

The big thing that sets the Phase-X apart from the rest is the reflectivity. If you are a night or early-morning runner, check these shoes out. You will be seen!

The Phase-X is similar to SKORA's Phase shoe, but the upper material is different with the Phase-X offering more support and durability while maintaining light weight and breathability. This is why I prefer the Phase-X and it is my new favorite. The inner upper is different on the Phase-X as well. It has a really plush feel similar to microfleece and is super comfortable without socks.

Overall, you can't go wrong with SKORA shoes and the new Phase-X is no exception. They allow you to run naturally and don't try to adjust your stride in any way. They also provide great ground feel. Just make sure you break them in slowly. SKORA provided me with a pair of Phase-X to review, but I am under no obligation to make it a positive review. I just like it that much!

I stumbled upon the Skora Phase about a year ago and have to say they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever work. I wasn't convinced on the natural running idea, especially because I primarily walk, but pain issues I've had when using other shoes pretty much completely went away after a few days with Skora. I love the reflectivity of these shoes too - very cool.

Before you read through all of this, I want to express that I love to run, but I am not a person who runs hundreds of miles per week. I go run when I feel like it (sometimes rarely, others everyday for months) and I'll do anywhere from sets of wind-sprints up to 20+ miles. This is my 4th type of minimal running shoe that I have logged in a lot of miles.

What I like about the shoe:
    Weight -
I hate the feeling of heavy shoes on my feet (except for when it's really, really cold out), especially when running. I got into the minimal scene a couple of years ago and haven't turned back. These shoes are very light, and don't feel cumbersome on the feet.

    Fit/Form -
My foot fits very comfortably in the shoe, but only when I take out the soles (which slide in and out very easily). With socks on, I can't even get my foot in the shoe with the soles, but the fit is good when they are removed. This is my second pair of shoes with the assymetrical tongue, and I really enjoy that feature. It can be tough getting it to fold around your foot correctly when first putting it on, but once it's there, it doesn't move. The low profile heel is really nice as well, as it doesn't scrape your heel up on long runs. The most I've logged on my pair at one time is 17 miles, and even then I didn't get blisters on my heels

    Function -
These are a minimal shoe, so as to be expected, they have less support than an average running shoe. If you don't have a good mid-foot strike, you will probably have pain or discomfort from extended use of these shoes (I suggest looking at a guide to transitioning into minimal shoes if you want to do so pain-free, there are tons of free ones out there).

As a flat-footer, arches never worked for me. After discovering minimalist/0-drop shoes, I have not gone back to "standard" training/running shoes. The Phase-X have recently become my favorite. Part of it has to do with the aesthetic of the shoe, but overall it's the feel and durability that make them my go-to shoe. I'm not a big runner, but I do beat up my shoes in the gym and while working out.

If you've worn options by Merrell, Vivobarefoot, Vibram, New Balance, etc...you might notice a more rounded feeling in the heel (ability to roll a bit along ankle). With those other shoes you really felt planted, and at first this new feeling threw me off and concerned me--was I now going to roll an ankle?! I'm now finding that it forces me to really check foot position during heavy lifts (any type of squat, press, and deadlift), which is a good thing. I'm also more conscious of placement during my runs--again, a positive.

I did notice some soreness in my calves, kind of like when I first dawned my first pair of Vibram Barefoot shoes after running around/working out in these for the first time. I thought I got past that after all these years, so I was surprised. My legs adjusted, and I was over it in a couple of days. Again, I like that there is a new shoe that can challenge my legs to get stronger simply by putting them on and running around.

Sizing can be tricky. Some report true-to-size, and others say slightly larger. If you are accustomed to a more cushioned shoe, these might feel a bit bigger if you go with your standard shoe size. I'm really between a 10.5 and 11, and went with 11. Gives me just enough room for toes to wiggle and feel secure. I'm certain a 10.
