It just does not work on my norinco sks I filed and fit and filed and fit for hours and still the bolt carrier would jam up?
George wheeler
This product is solid and very well manufactured especially considering the weapons these mounts were made for are not exactly the most precision firearms ever made.
Huntsman69
Had read all of the horror stories about having to file it to fit, and even the instructions that came with the item told you how to do it.

I own a 1989 Yugo 59\66a1. In my case I had to file(with hand file, NOT a powered grinder!) down the 2 tips about 1\8th inch for a fit onto the bolt carrier. Nice fit after the filing, no wiggle. I give the product 4 stars, not because of the editing needed, but the finish. Its a shiny, black like it was painted with fingernail polish or something. Doesn't even come close to the original cover finish. Also, careful choosing your scope, you may not be able to use your stipper clips if your scope is too long. Just keep that in mind. I have a 7inch length scope and I still have about a quarter inch to still get a stripper clip in. Any scope longer than a 7 incher, no stripper clips for you.

Got this for a chinese SKS. had to file down the front prongs just a touch. After that, a tight fit. However, it fits beautifully. The scope mounts just like I wanted, and the iron sights are still 100% useable. Keep in mind, you will want to put a piece of foam rubber on the bottom of your scope. The ejection port is right under the front of it. Every shell casing will bounce off of it.

Well made, required a little bit of filing to fit my Norinco. Fits tighter than the stock receiver.

mount takes a little adjustment to fit. Easily fixed with a file and vise. Rock solid product in the end.

For those of you on the fence, I strongly urge you to not buy this product. I researched scope mounts for my SKS for a long period of time and bought this with a budget in mind. It looks solid. I filed and bent the prongs and inserted it in the receiver. It was a tight fit and should not have budged from the recoil. However, there was a big problem. The bolt carrier would not slide back without using a great deal of force. That's the last thing you need when shooting your SKS: not having the bolt carrier go back enough to eject the shell and load another one. I filed the inside track thinking the carrier did not have enough room. After careful examination, I noticed that the height of the metal of the track on which the bolt carrier slides was twice as thick as the original receiver. You would have to buy this product and then pay a gunsmith $60 to have it milled. Unless you're willing to pay the money, skip this product. I do not know how this got so many good reviews. It's the same product as the UTG that got terrible reviews. I think someone who has something to gain by selling this product wrote many fake reviews for it. My advice is to save extra money, buy the Choate mount for $39 and have a professional drill and tap your receiver. It's not what you what to hear, especially those of you on a budget, but you'll be minus $30+ that could have gone towards a good mount. Plus none of these receiver mounts are designed for the recoil for hundreds of rounds. A flat bar needs to be welded on each side to prevent side-to-side movement.

brand new condition! the manufacturer made it too long on purpose for some reason, as stated in installment directions, but after just a couple minutes of filing it fit perfect!

Seems to be very well built, but it took about 10 minutes of filing before I could get it to fit on my Yugo 59/66. It is not entirely tight, but that is likely because I over-filed. I stuck a shim in one side, and it is now entirely tight and solid.

It came with nice-quality rings for my scope, much better rings, in fact, than I payed $10 for. (I thought this wouldn't come with any).

Now, as for the most important thing I can mention: If you get this, consider getting a short scope. I got a long scope (Barska, 3-9x40, from cheaper than dirt) and it fits on fine, but the front end of the scope is positioned right above the spot the shells are ejected. This can cause them to bounce right back into the chamber and jam the gun.

I solved this by making a temporary shell deflector from one of the extra rings (that I accidentally ordered) and a piece of aluminum I gun from a heavy-duty beer bottle. I haven't field tested it yet, but it seems to work in my simulated test in my garage.

All in all, very happy with this scope mount, you just might want to get a short scope...

This awesome little item worked perfect for my Norinco SKS. It was definitely a little tight at first, but a little Dremel work make it tight as a bug. Now I have a Red Dot Sight that doesn't move at all and looks 100% stock.
