SKS Gas Tube Weaver Scope Mount

This weaver scope mount does not work. it does not provide enough surface area to tightly contact the rifle to hold it tight. I would recomend one of the UTG trirail or quadrail systems that clamps down on the barrel and gas tube.

Well every SKS is a bit different, my gas piston slid right in, and I couldn't feel any suction/compression.

then to install, you may have to file a good bit off the square end, take off a little at a time and try to fit, I used sandpaper. I got it on the gun, and noticed it had about 1/8th inch side rock to it, no way Id ever put a scope on it, sure it could be shimmed and made secure but Im not a gunsmith, but it looks good on the gun.

got this for my yugo sks, went to drop the gas piston into it and would not fit......pulled it out and looked in the tube in the light totaly rust filled.....i say filled because i could scrape chuncks out. gave it a good cleaning pulled the rail off.....and fits fine now. havent got a chance to test it yet, its part of a project i put on the back burner

I bought this to replace the factory wood top hand guard on my '68 Yugo SKS, and it fits and functions okay. It's a bit tight and the lock doesn't like to clamp down all the way (actually popped up a few times at the range), but that could be fixed with some grinding. That's why the 3 stars, but for the price...

I can't speak to the rail since I haven't nor did I plan to mount anything to it. On my SKS the top guard has to be removed by a pin, and I didn't want to mar the wood, so I thought a whole replacement was better since I was replacing the stock anyway.

Shipping was fast, though there was rust on it when I opened the package - so no good there. It does not come with a new piston, though it doesn't claim to, I was hoping it would.

Basically, I could have spent an hour in the garage and made this myself, and with a better fit. Not impressed, sorry.

I bought this part thinking it was just going to be a cheap replacement because the price was so low, and I just wanted something to get my gun working again for the time being.I wanted the tapco replacement but I am on a budget so that was out of the question.when this part arrived I was really happy with it like any aftermartket parts some fitting has to be done I am not very mechanically inclined but I was able to manage this task by my self in a couple of minutes.Before I bought this gas tube I had read some awful reviews that this gas tube had to much wobble and that it would move when you mounted a scope it just depends how you fit it,take your time and only file off a little at a time until you have a snug fitting tube. I highly recomend this part to anyone who is on a budget and wants a great part

THIS FIT GREAT ON MY YUGO 59/66 SKS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, AND FOR $18, YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT. THE ITEM WAS HIGH QUALITY, AND THE RAIL WAS A LITTLE LOOSE ON THE GAS TUBE, BUT ALL I HAD TO DO WAS TIGHTEN THE SCREWS HOLDING IT ON, AND IT IS AS SOLID AS A ROCK! I AM NOW BUYING A SECOND ONE FOR MY OTHER SKS, BUT AM DISAPPOINTED TO SEE THAT THE COST HAS RISEN TO $22+. STILL A BARGIAN OF ALMOST HALF OFF THE $39.99 LIST. 7.62X39 IS AN AWESOME ROUND AND SKS IS AN AWESOME RIFLE!
