I have tried the Evolon fabric which the sleep safe zip covers are made of & I must say that they are soft & comfortable. The more I wash it the softer it becomes. I can wash it in hot water & do not have to worry about the stability of the product. The construction is first class & am getting the protection that I was looking for at a great price.

They arrive kind of stiff and papery, but after washing they are soft as can be. Wash them before use. And they do the job they were intended for as well.

We had bedbugs and it was driving us crazy. Not to mention how unatractive it is to walk around all full of scabs in the summertime. This product did the trick. The very first night we put it on we were able to sleep through the night.

I wanted an allergen proof and dust mite/bed bug covering for my pillow--this is great quality for the price and I'm very happy with this covering. Will probably order more for all the pillows in my home. Why just get a regular pillow cover when you can get one that is allergen/dust/bug proof for the same price or less? It's a great protector for the pillow. I ordered a mattress cover from the same company and am equally happy with that.

For the price, I don't think you can beat it. I bought a vinyl one in the beginning and tossed it after one day because of the awful smell. It wasn't until much research later that I learn how toxic the off gassing from vinyl was. Then I found this which was much more moderately priced than the cotton or polyester covers. We had some bedbugs and my first reaction was to toss all the mattresses in the house. Then I read that it wasn't necessary since bedbugs hide in the cracks in floor/wall and will reinfect any new mattress. So then I vacuumed the entire room/mattress and launder all the sheets/pillow cases/stuff animals in HOT water then 40 mins in HIGH HEAT, then I silicone caulked the entire bottom baseboards in the room and any cracks or holes I saw. Then I covered all the mattresses with the evolon. It's been a week and so far so good. The mattress encasings don't make much sound and doesn't feel hot. It feels rough when I first opened it but after I put it on it was fine. I do suggest that if you have the newer mattresses with a mattress top that you get a deeper fit, like 12-15 inches instead of 9. I have an non-mattress top mattress and it was a snug fit.
Pillow cases are a little stiffer but that may be because I have tempurpedic pillows and they don't fill out the entire standard pillow case. It says that it can be washed and that the more you wash it, the softer it gets and is still effective against bedbugs so I will try it.

I don't know whether it works against bedbugs because although I bought it as a protection against bedbugs, I haven't got them (yet!). However, I can report on the comfort of the pillowcase. I used it over my cozy old feather and down pillow and it felt kind of heavy and airless. I recently purchased the AllerZip version with the terrycloth cover and that one is MUCH more comfy to sleep on.

I guess I've been spoiled by the Mission Allergy covers my allergist recommended. The top end fabric in those are very silky, but they are very expensive. So, I thought I'd give these a try for my daughters pillows. But, I guess you get what you pay for. These are thick, heavy and card board feeling compared to what I am used to. My biggest complaint however, is that since they aren't silky, they attract dog and cat hair like velcro. So, she is laying on even more allergens that if we weren't using anything. My high end silky ones don't allow any hair to attach to the outside of the covers. I'm not an overly picky person, just look at my other reviews... but I can not recommend this brand and will never buy them again.

These were stiff when they came out of the package but after I washed them, they are very soft. I like that they aren't made of vinyl that releases polyurethane into the air of my 3 yr old's bedroom! The pillows with case on are great, no funny sounds or feel. Lastly, my daughter woke up every morning sneezing from her brand new pillows. The morning after I covered them with these, she FINALLY woke up healthy! I'm very pleased with this purchase.

After searching for protective pillow covers I found these. They are perfect for allergies and fit easily without interfering with the pillowcase. I highly recommend these for all its positive qualities and the low price.

This is a good product but if you already have bed bugs 1. get an exterminator to spray the pillows before the cover goes around it 2. After it's covered bugs can still escape from the zipper, therefor check the zipper seam every now and then for bugs. 3. Apply tape or anything along the zipper line to stop bugs from coming out. Dealing with bed bugs are a serious matter and extermination along with this product is a good solution.
