This review is from: 2010 EXTREME MUMMY SLEEPING BAG, Standard Size, 0 DEG., COMPACT. 3 LBS, By High Peak (Misc.)
The price is great - we paid $75, but the bag just feels clammy and made us sweat. I purchased one for me and one for my wife. It slept fine when we tested it in the back yard in about 50-deg weather, but it did not perform on the trail. We used it for 2-nights. The first night got down to the mid 30's - i almost froze. The second night was in the 40's, and I wasn't cold. However, the bag just made me feel clammy & sweaty. I am bailing on this bag and purchasing a more expensive bag that will perform in the woods.

Don't make the same mistake I did. If you want a 0 degree, 3lb bag, spend the money on a good one. This thing has almost no loft and I nearly froze on two week long trips that got down to the 20's and 30's.

I'm not sure if it will hold up to it's 20 degree temp rating but as far as size and wight go it's all that it boast's to be. I've used it several times now and it's very easy to get in and out of the compression sack that it comes with and seems fairly warm (Used in 45/55 degree temps)I'd say it's definently the most bang for your buck if your looking for a decent backpacking bag.

Product came on first day of expected delivery.
Bag is not as light as I would have liked for backpacking, but the temperature rating is low enough for colder weather. Therefore, it would be difficult to find a lighter weight bag for that cold rating for the price. I am pleased with the performance I have had with High Peak products so I expect equally good performance from this bag. |
