Today is Saturday. Received package from FEDEX. One small flimsy cardboard box. There is no packing slip on box. No copy of invoice inside. Lots of thin shipping tape, as if taped over tape. Opened box. Footboard is cracked. Headboard has chip, one side rail is chipped and gouged. No hardware, no assembly instructions. Immediately went online to contact Amazon. Must contact seller directly. Seller only open Mon-Friday day hours. Looked up return policy. May only return if package unopened. Contacted my credit card company to file payment dispute. Will contact manufacturer during business hours Monday...

We bought this for our 20 month old son and he loves it! The bed is sturdy and well made and looks so pretty in his room. It is a solid wood sleigh bed and is much nicer than the other toddler beds we've seen.
The bed arrived quickly and with directions that my husband said were easy to follow.
We are very happy with our purchase!

I was unsure what to think about this bed after reading the reviews, but the price was good and so was the appearance so I decided to give it a try. Despite what other reviews said, this bed was pretty fast and easy to assemble. It took me less than 1 hour, but I had to basically assemble it twice. That is the only flaw I saw with this bed. The instructions could be better and include a notice about the side mattress support rails. Each rail has a hole on top. When assembling the bed, you need to make sure that both the holes are facing up and that they are on the headboard end of the bed so that the side safety rails can attach. The instructions did not clearly state this, so I found that out the hard way. I was almost done putting it together, but had to disassemble it and start again to get the holes in the correct position. Had I known that, this bed would've been ready to go in 30 minutes. The bed is sturdy and attractive, and my 18 month-old loves it! He was so excited when he saw it! Good looking, nice bed...especially for the price!

I fell in love with the look of this bed-- way more stylish than the slat-bed styles that seem to be so common for toddlers. Unfortunately, I let my desire for an attractive piece of furniture outweigh my common sense to take heed from the reviews. Just as two previous posts mentioned, NO HARDWARE was included. I contacted the company before I ordered and they told me that all I would need would be included. They weren't. I contacted the company after the incomplete shipment had arrive, and they did take the necessary steps to have the missing parts shipped to me.

However, I had order the product with the expectations that I would be able to use it when it arrived... but it's a little challenging to put together a bed with no screws or joint connectors.

If you are not on a time frame and can wait an extra week for missing parts should they happen to not be included with the packaging, then yes, the bed is adorable! If you want to build it right away, you're taking a risk of it arriving without all the parts you need.

Sorry -- I thought I updated this a long time ago. I'm upgrading this bed from 2 to 4 stars. Once I got the bed together, my little guy LOVED it. He didn't look back and kept talking about his cool new bed for at least a year. I don't even mind the color, which is more a pleasant honey than oak. We could both snuggle it. He and his friends have spent years climbing and jumping on it. It has weathered the test of toddlerdom admirably, and I'll be looking to pass it on soon to some other lucky kid once we get his new big-big-boy bed together.

2012:

Delivered a day before projected delivery date. Much, much lighter than the picture, more the color of oak. But more importantly: NO HARDWARE and no instructions. I'd already taken apart our crib, so I searched online and found the instructions, called our local hardware store, emailed them the instructions, took one of the mattress support boards with me to the hardware store, and took a leap of faith and purchased hardware I thought would enable me to assemble the bed. Our amazing hardware guy explained how to insert the joint connector nuts; they are what provide a threaded receptacle for the bolts.

If you purchase this bed, you should make sure you have and know how to use a drill... or have the stamina to hack away at the holes to make the bolts fit so they go through far enough to connect the pieces. The bed is pretty awkward to put together, even minus the added frustration of too-small holes, and having no hardware and no instructions included. The hardest part was keeping the slats in the holes while trying to connect the headboard, footboard and supporting boards.
