Bought this switch for a small shop network I administer and it's been great. No hiccups and steady workhorse of a switch.
It is unmanaged with minimum features but for a small shop what more do you really need? Just need speed, speed, speed for the ever growing larger files that are being generated by CAD, Financial and inventory applications. This does a great job. Recommend!

In the Summer of 2007, I did a job for a doctor's office where I installed network cabling and jacks, a switch, servers, desktops, printers, software, wireless access point router and laptops, etc. I selected this switch because it seemed like a good switch for a good price. Since that time, this switch has been running without a hitch - no problems. No configuration was necessary - I plugged it in and it just worked. Been working ever since and I am considering getting one for my house to upgrade an older 100 MB switch I still have on my home network.

Like the other reviewer, I bought this unit to replace a SMC 8 port switch. The 8 port switch had operated faultlessly. In fact, I moved it to another room and am using it there. But I needed more than 8 ports for the main switch. These units just work. Plug them in and forget them. I had a problem with a NAS unit that turned out to be an incompatible switch (not SMC); replacing the switch with a SMC solved the problem. You cannot go wrong with this 16 port switch.
