The SMC2336W-AG is a versatile high-performance wireless tri-mode, dual-band CardBus adapter for active executives, employees, or anyone who needs to connect to a wireless network at the office, at home, or when traveling. It allows a notebook PC to wirelessly connect to any one of three available wireless networks: 802.11b and the newer, faster 802.11g and 802.11a that operate in two discrete, non-interfering frequency bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The SMC2336W-AG includes an EZ Installation Wizard that makes set-up quick and easy. The additional 802.11a 5 GHz band also offers a way to quickly transfer data in a frequency range that does not experience interference or interruptions from cordless phones, microwave ovens and other devices utilizing the 2.4 GHz frequency. The SMC2336W-AG supports Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), so users can communicate with colleagues confidentially, access sensitive company information, or send data that is dynamically encrypted as it's sent.

I have been using SMC wireless NICs for nearly three years and I have gone through at least forty so far (I buy them for users in my company and also for my family and friends). I have gone through at least ten models of SMC wireless NICs, and I love SMC2336AG the best.

It is very easy to install and configure, and I never really ran into any major issues with encryption. This card is fast and very sensitive. It is the best card I have used so far ....

Tech support was difficult they recommended by return the product my feeling is the g standard isn't really ready. Stay away from this item for Windows X P.
