This gigabit edge switch is designed to handle high bandwidth applications and capable of reaching up to 48Gbps with anon-blocking single chip switching architecture. It provides cost-effective, gigabit ethernet switching for bandwidth-intensive networks that require more than unmanaged switching capabilities: Quality of Service (QoS) with four levels of priority,weighted fair queuing. With these features the SMC8024L2 ensures smooth transmission of mission critical data, VLANs based on frame tags or ports and spanning tree provides loop detection andprevention.
